H9 spit comes with the balsa, hardware, retracts, hinges, everything but motor and electronics. There's actually a lot you need other than the motor and radio too, extensions, servos, batteries. This plane with half decent stuff in it, cost about 800 to 1000 bucks. 200-300 for the plane, 200-300 for the engine, or more, and 50 for batteries, 50 for reciever, 120 for servos at least... list goes on
Think I mentioned the radio, and I wouldn't fly anything that big with a $150 radio, get a DX6 or 7 at least. half that price for batteries and servos, not likely unless you buy the cheapest crap around. Put futaba or JR servos, no Hitec cheap shit. hitec has decent high end stuff but again wouldn't put anything less than decent stuff in a plane this size, or this expensive. Some of those prices might be less in US bucks, but not much and not for long with the way the US$ is dropping
Don't forget, retract servos are almost 80 bucks themselves, need the tons of torque a decent one will supply if you want your gear to work every time
$29.99 hs-75 retract servo, and a DX-6i $149, JR st-47 servos $11.99 these are US prices from US stores. Do your retracts wobble? Mine do on a H9 P-47 .60
HS-75bb retract servo 114oz-in. Look on the forums everybody is complaining about the h9 retracts. The wobbles I can deal with cause it real only happens when starting but the biggest problem I have is they bend back slightly on the grass and come very close to binding my servo.
JR retract servo has 260oz-in, over double, wouldn't use any less on a 60 size plane, unless you want a chance of them not coming down. Sure most times you'll be fine, but when you bend them on a hard landing, and they get stuck up inside, and can't go back down, now you can have a nice belly landing lol
double the price, double the torque. There's no doubt you can throw money at anything and fix it. Well they say flying RC planes is like going to a strip joint, you throw your money in the air and hope for a happy ending, lol.
Good analogy, but more like a hooker, pay enough, and you don't get a rash on your wingtip, from failed gear lol. It's a much more enjoyable hobby when everything works right though, and helps if you use reliable, decent parts
fizzak is right, not only by a quick pull up do you risk a nice torque roll into the ground, the Spitfire's eliptical wing will stall from the tip, that is by the way the only one that will, all other stalls start at the wing root.
Yikes! Hate to flame you but that takeoff was a tipstall waiting to happen, easy on that elevator! Your gear did not go up all the way on the first try. This should be a warning to land the check the mechanics before they drain your batt. Also I'm rolling on 3" wheels instead of the factory 3.25", they tuck in better if your gear is tweaked. You landed very hot and I did not see much flap. Mine lands fine running at 2k rpm and 40° down flap.

this is gonna sound really moronic, but i'm new to rc so it's cool :)
if i buy the h9 spit, does that mean i'm buying just the balsa? or does it come with the engine, remote control thing etc?

Try ebay and knock the price down to half that for the battery and servos and you forgot the radio transmitter will be about $150

is this a mk 11 (eleven) or 2? damned roman numerals confuse me.

2 becaus its a mkv || means two
my squad flys the 3

Was the hot landing without flaps intentional?
The plane should have been put in to a landing pattern when the wheels never tucked up properly - just in case!
francepourmoi 3 years ago
I was a hot landing cause it was a dead stick landing..better to have speed whilst dead stick than not enough.

Is that a 2 stroke in there, if it is then you are mad. In a plane like that you just have to have a 4 stroke or it wont sound good.
babooneater 3 years ago
do we need sound or performance. I have got one 90 size and 2 stroke sounds perfect on it. Check my channel ;)
