hey Sammy just wanted to say a huge thank u, my son (ive asked a few questions to u about him) hes 12 and in his 3rd month of accutane , up until now its made him worse and worse he has cystic acne and it got real bad, but finally hes not waking up everyday with a new cyst and after 10 weeks of homeschooling and iscolating himself he went back to school 3 days ago and is getting a bit of confidence back, your videos really helped him and me get through this hard time...so thank u :)

Hey man, I have a question, I've been on accutane ( we call it Roacutane here in Brazil) for 3 months now, still 3 months and a half to go, and i've just found out about vitamin E while on accutane. So, does it really helps? What does it do exactly? My derm said that there are no profs about vitamin E eficacy while on accutane.

hey samismurf.. your videos have been very helpful for me to compare to during my accutane course. i am kind of nervous at this point because i am almost finished with my 4th month and all the acne is gone but i have a lot of red marks left behind along with a couple of little scars on my cheeks. does the redness quickly reduce at the last month or does it go away during post accutane? Also did accutane heal any scars that you had during accutane? if you could help me out i would appreciate it.

Hi Sam. I have seen all you videos. They are awesome and very helpful. Im on month 3 of accutane. I have no pimple like 3 weeks which is pretty good. Hair is dry since I started the treatment. How was your hair during the treatment and after? Thanks for your reply.

I have very thick hair, so during the treatment, it was super dry, but after that, it cameback to normal. good luck with your treatment.. :)

Anyway, when you were taking tane, did your facial skin turn a red/pink color? Not red marks from acne.. but like the complexion of your face turn to red/pink?

If so how long did it last?

im debating lowering dose cause i cant stand the redness..

but when you when u say at the end... did u lower your dose at the end? or did it start going away on your usual 60mg daily(i think thats what u said u were on).. or it went away after you finished

the redness will be there, 20 or 100mgs.... It was there all the way through the 6 months, it went away after i was done with it!

Went on accutane a month and half ago, I have lower back ache, and a few arm and leg aches, nothing serious. I had a few nosebleeds, which don't happen anymore. When I first started taking accutane I got dry yellow scabs around my mouth, they have since disapeared and my mouth area is now clear (that was my main acne battleground btw), I still get one or two spots and 1 cyst, but the pase of it is slowing down which suggests eventually it's going to stop at some point.

Looking great Sami. I've seen all your videos. They are really entertaining! I am going on my second month of Claravis (generic Accutane) 80 mgs. a day. I am really happy with the results so far. I see now that all those scary warnings and supposed side effects were nothing to worry about. Dealing with dry lips and dry arms is not so bad as long as you moisturize and drink a lot of water. I'm so glad I bit the bullet and took this drug! Thanks for your videos!

I finally finished my roaccutane treatment about 2 months ago and my skin looks pretty much same as yours. I've had only tiny tiny pimples near my lips, but nothing else! Only big scars left, and when I have the money I'll go someday to a doctor and take a laser treatment for them :)

From what my friend did, he was on acutane right and he was near the end of the time, so he was all sure ill smoke some weed, didn't do a thing to his skin, although he was scared it would, it didn't. He did say it made it go away >.> LOL

I was just wondering how bad the side effect of depression really is..

Because thats the only reason why my mom wouldnt let me take accutane, because she thinks that the whole side effect thing could really be too much to handle.. I would like to know ur opinion and advice towards it.. thanks

There is a correlation between depression and accutane, but in clinical studies it shows it only affects 15% of people who take it, and 4% of them had extreme suicidal tendancies. Although the media will have you believe that it's this killer drug that makes everyone kill themselves and of course when a high profile death happens everybody runs around like headless chicken jeez, people are so pathetic. Tell your mummy not to believe everything she reads in the papers or sees on TV ok?

I hope in 3 months time I can be sitting in the exact way you are, with the exact same skin. I am on 80mgs a day, One question, did you worry before and during taking accutane?, you know about the side affects etc. I've been on it for a month and a half, and I'm kinda refusing to moisterise my skin because I want all that crap to be out of it first.

Also, you should'nt really need to moisterise anymore, only unless for some reason you get dry skin. Sebum is a natural secretment, everybody gets it, however for some people the body produces far too much sebum than needed, which results in acne. Your skin should be producing the normal amount of sebum now, so in theory you should'nt have to moisterise, but then again it's in "theory", anyway good luck pal, and all the best for the future.

Glad your doing well. Im not doing AS well. Still a huge improvement but im getting a few small whiteheads which are building on my face. If it keeps getting worse I guess ill be going for round 2 unfortunately. Im not going to let it hyperpigment my skin anymore.
