OKAY first off this was an adaptation of the tv show so don't say its bad just cuz it isn't like the tv show. Second of all it a wonderful movie filled with steam it was primarily made for steampunks and there culture and ans for some of the scene culture. I don't really get the hatred this movie gets. Yes, it was silly, but so what. Lots of action flicks are silly. I loved the steampunk gadgets in this movie. The giant robot spider was a highlight. I also thought the villian was fun and pretty original in some ways. Oh well, I like it and that is all that matters. Forget the haters!

It was the same Indiana Jones we grew up with. This is the problem with bringing a series, which was made in a certain time period, into the present; people have changed, things wont be viewed the same like they were 20 years ago. I remember simply drooling all over this movie as a kid; it had trains with cannons and stilts that can raise it above the tracks, it had magnetized flying disks of death, a bifurcated madman on a sick-ass wheel-chair, FLAMETHROWER BOOBS, and of course, the Robotic Steampunk Spider that would make an AT-AT crap itself. No matter what Rotten Tomatoes may say, this movie will always have a special place in my heart.

@leauxbert It was primarily because it was based off the 60s TV series " The Wild Wild West". The series had a more serious action tone to it, while the 1999 movie had a comedy-action mix, which made the fans of the series upset over the movies portrayal of the series.

I know this movie got deadpan reviews and a Razzie award, but I still enjoy this film. I like the slick, steampunk style, the outlandish gadgets, and I liked that they gave West and Artemus more contrasting personalities than in the show. Their lines still make me laugh.

There were lots of good ideas here, they just didn't all quite string together right. A more robust plot would have helped.
