The HARE is just an improvement upon similar designs before, as most prehospital devices are. As to answer contraindications noted by types of fractures, we really can't judge those in the field as we have yet to be able to X-ray the patient upon contact. Every device has pros and cons. I suppose one could argue that with a sheet, ten cravats and a long stick, you could make something of similar adequacy and quality.

@Lavafist ....plus with a sager you can tend to both extremities. With the Hares you can only do one.
