i'm sorry ford/lincold but i usually love all the concept cars that come along but not this one. it is way too angular, has no personality and, well, it's ugly. back to the drawing board.
I find it funny that the guy in video said he wanted everyone to know it was a Lincoln at first glance but aside from the badging and the grille it actually looks more like a Cadillac of today with all the sharp lines and edges.
One more comment.........recently I have had the distinct pleasure of driving a 2003, absloutely mint Town Car...and despite the naysayers, it is LUXURIOUS, SOLID, COMFORTABLE, and oh so whisper quiet inside!!! I cannot believe that they are abandoning a classic in an America that has no history of ANYTHING anymore! My next purchase will be a cadillac dts L, it, too, is fabulous and they are keeping up with good designs, unlike FORD! Town Car is nice, but need a facelift :-)
@Shevretti so true! so true! My first car in 1987 was a 1981 Olds Toro Diesel!!! I loooooooved it, and it was consider a toy compared to it's predecessors! But compared to the cars of today, I see that the delta 88's, 98's, devilles etc, from the 80's, were the last solid cars. warts and all....these cars today, including my aurora, are disposable throw away junk! Thank you for posting! Merry Christmas, too!
@hmbam1 what I am saying about Cadillac is that no one can tell it is a Malibu, the Escalade on the other hand still sells like crazy but remember how pontiac and saturn died for selling rebaged crap
Ford needs to make the Lincoln models like the Cadillac CTS, no one should be able to see a Lincoln and say "that is a freaking ford Fusion or Taurus"
@tHeWasTeDYouTh Lol lincoln sucks hey i own a 07 town car i would take that over a caddy any day, my dad owned and operated a limo company he told me that caddillacs dont last as long as lincolns its a fact the engine is way better dont beleive me go to an airport what do you see?go downtown to a big cities all lincolns these cars will last longer then caddys lol people are only buying those vehicles because of the name and the facny gadets inside that have no bearing on internal componets
I hate how Lincoln always comes out with cool concepts like this, the MKR, 2004 Mark X, and the MK9 and don't produce any of them. Instead they produce mediocre wanna-be vehicles like the MKZ, MKS, and MKT which can barely compete with the competition. I just wished that they made the MKR, their only unique looking vehicle with a kick ass 400 hp engine.
Although this Sentinal would have definantly made sells, it's one of those cars where you want to be the only person in town with one but end up driving by a blue one, then a red one and then one exactly like yours lol
Every car I want is that way. It always happens to me. I hate it so much. This car however, is unique. I decided I should only drive concepts. I wish.
I think Lincoln should stick to a navigator-like grill for their models, and the emblem on the hood like a Benz :D also waiting on a chrysler 300c killer!! Lincoln LS could definantly have an updated body styling and interior to match up with the CTS/IS350/330i... Lincoln seems to be slacking off, the latest models all look like fords with a different grille, and I happen to be a big lincoln fan :( my heads down
if Ford gets rid of the Lincoln towncar, that will be the worst thing they can do!!! I own one. And if they get rid of the Lincoln line. I'll buy cadillac.
I have no idea what Ford is thinking now. Their plan as of now is to replace to Town Car with the MKS. I was just watching a video of some critic giving the car a review and he said that it reminded him a lot of the Taurus. It's ridiculous. I know the Town Car has been around for a long time, but there's a reason: BECAUSE ITS A GREAT CAR WITH A GREAT LEGACY!
That's right, MKS looks like 2000-06 Taurus with Lincoln badging... or is it still a Lincoln badging at all? But it's also a little like clumsy next generation of 1998-02 Continental I mentioned before (look at the tail lamps and grille). Think it will be a great Lincoln LS successor in popularity ;)
BTW. What about personal luxury cars??? To be honest Mark VIII was the last car except Crown Vic./Grand Marquis/Town Car in good old american style!
@sreilly honestly, the lincoln has actually lost a lot of its, well, pizazz. don't get me wrong, its a luxurious classy ride, but it is mostly viewed now as an old person car. the only thing thats changed in the past 9 years are the headlights and grille. what they have to do is give it a more bold daring design, like the cadillacs, classy with a hint of sport, and with all the class of a lincoln
@sreilly The Town Car had a lengthy and good run but the bottom line is that Ford just doesn't sell very many of them. The few they do mostly go to limousine businesses. Ford knows when it's time to put a car--even a good one--to rest. After all, Ford didn't need bailout money and the way Ford is run is proof that they will continue to be the best automobile manufacturer for decades if not centuries to come. Props to Ford for knowing when to move on.
@madhatter0110 They didnt need money..... If Chysler and GM would have folded and so wouldnt have all of fords suppliers......Cut the American company's some break. Yes I hate Chrysler and gm for how they have donw business, but we need to get back to be Americans, and get back to business already. Dissing on people for taking money, that was paid back, that kept people fed and turned corporations around, is infantile.....
@randyseck Ford uses very few if any of the same suppliers that GM and Chrysler does and this notion that if one auto company fails they all do has no merit. The US Constitution does NOT grant the federal level of government authority to bailout anyone or any company. Whether it be borrowing from China or rewarding bad behavior or GM and Chrysler continuing to crank out inferior cars, Americans along with GM and Chrysler are worse off on so many levels.
I'd never think that MKS is a Town Car successor! I can't believe that american full-size luxury car can be shorter than 215 inches! Not to mention MKS looks rather like last Continental successor and it's also mid-sized.
The Cadillac 16 is everything this car isnt :)

Agree. Sentinel looks like a Lincoln and it definitely looks American while MKS is like somethin' Euro-Japanise.
