Fellow dairy farmer from MA and we were hit hard by Irene also. Didn't lose cows, crops or land but many farms around us did and everyone's in crisis mode still. Going to be a long haul ahead and all uphill. Good luck to everyone who lost anything dairy farmers crop farmers and regular people who didn't have a home to go back to after it was over.
I've seen floods on the Farm land near where I grew up. Salted the Land, and scoured off the top soil. But that was just gales, not a hurricane.
I hope their soil is not too contaminated, and they can keep their heads above water. Too few people realise how close farmers are too collapse, how vital farmers are, and how hard a farmers life can be.

She's talking about god while she's distraught and then you bring up Allah from left field. Have some courtesy and try to say something more thoughtful.
Allah is just the Arabic Word for God. It is to all extent the same god. Now you know how an Atheist feels when a christian, or any believer says 'I'll pray for you', or something similar.
Try and take it like it was meant, because if a religious minority complained about being told 'Jesus loves you' American Christians would be up in arms for them to be tolerant and respectful and not to get offended.

@TheBoyFromNorfolk Not at all, the concept of Allah is very defined in the Qur'an and in history as well (you see text and decrees for urging militants to make peace with those who can recognize Allah in ancient laws in the middle east.) Yet I understand how you feel that way. Diversity movements actually blurred definitions and in fact made us a little less aware of differences in hopes of giving people common ground.
Right now, I'm just slightly annoyed that you're still subbed to Coughlan.
