Sorry for the belated response . . . I didn't mean to suggest that The Damned are a NYC band (obviously). That's why I said "despite" my bias for NYC bands, the Damned are the best of the lot . . . that is, even though I USUALLY prefer NYC bands, my favorite ("punk" band) happens to be a NON-NYC band - the Damned. I hope this clears up any confusion.

I actually went to see the Damned play Mick Jagger Centre last year (basically my school, and the best band theyve had there so far) and despite bad sound (MJC is pretty crap as a venue) the pit was mental. Class act.
