I don't like the ending in Il Mare very much. It's ...hmm..a little bit illogical, though the film is extremely wonderful. I think this ending, somehow breaks the flow of the whole movie. :(

I don't like The Lake House, but there's one thing I prefer. The ending in American version, when the man comes to see the woman after she's put her warning for him into the mailbox ,seems better. *sigh*

Anyway, Il Mare is still the most moving and beautiful ever :x

At the end they finally met. the guy comes to the girl and told her something like "Now I'll tell you unbelivable story, would you believe me?"

Because, they live in different time. the guy is dead in the girl's time, so they couldn't meet eachother in her time. however in the guy's time, they both are alive and the girl from the future told him not to go to her so the guy alived. that's why the guy could come to her in his time and said "would you belive me?"

Really nice. I want more films like Il Mare and Ditto to come out. The main complaint I had with the American remake in Lakehouse was that the main characters in the remake are much older then the korean couple and it seemed too corny. Lakehouse = 2, Il Mare = 4.9 (5.0 if they met). =)

I think Hollywood should stop murdering the originality of Korean (and other countries) films.

The re-make of Il Mare was appalling, they wrecked the story and added characters which only proved to make things confusing and stale.

Put simply The Lakehouse 0 stars = Il Mare 5 stars.

I haven't seen the Lake House, and I probably won't. I heard it's not so good. I don't really like how Hollywood doesn't discuss remakes of Asian movies, but when an American movie gets remade there's a large amount of hype surrounding whether it will live up to the original. They've been discussing remaking Yupki Girl, if they do and it sucks (which it will) Hollywood should disappear.
