@bmwnasher seriously though, the way I understand it, you can't own a handgun in the UK without a special license, like if you were employed in the humane disposal of animals. The only pistols allowed are long barreled, and then I belive you still need a firearms license to own one. The only guns in England that don't require a license are ones of officially (governmental) obsolete caliber, or deactivated (cannot be used as or converted back to a firearm) with a official certificate.
@TacticalGunGuy That comment i made was tongue in cheek. In the uk the only pistol you can own is a single shot for target competitions, that requiers a firearm cetificate, Even game keepers can only have a rifle with a three shot magazine. shotguns are a firearm certificate and are ok but not autos or pump.
We had riots here and because of police shortages it was mob rule for 48hrs, i only live 10min walk from the Tottenham one and we are not allowed to protect ourselves.
@bmwnasher yeah, it's a shame how bad things have gotten there with respect to personal ownership of self protection items. English tongue-in-cheek humor sometimes doesn't translate well in the written word :)
@TacticalGunGuy When i watch these videos i get so envious of you guys you must keep you right to bare arms. We even are banned from buying blank firers now, but i still have a couple which is legal, still i can deafen them to death.
@TacticalGunGuy Im 63 and when i was about 25 i bought a 1934 9mm beretta from a military collector who emigrated to Australia, i kept it for a few years never could get the ammo . What a simple gun to strip, oh how i wish i still had it. I will probably get a visit from the police for saying this?
@bmwnasher Big Brother is watching! I love the older Berettas too - it's a shame they and the other Italian domestic arms manufacturers are so "in bed" with their government now though and are actively helping to push military pattern rifles from non-Italian manufacturers out of their country ....sign of the times I guess.
@TacticalGunGuy 25 rounds would have been a blessing. I dont know if you are aware in the UK even air rifles over a certain power require a firearm cetificate. Are you a revolver or a semi auto man.
@bmwnasher semi-auto man myself, though I can appreciate a good revolver with a good design or history. I'm thinking about picking up an older Webley soon as I'm starting to branch out into English made / English designed military firearms.
@TacticalGunGuy Have you seen the UK news we just had a guy who shot three members of his family. He had three shotguns and three handguns, three hand guns allowed at home is unusual in UK, Another nail in the coffin for owning a gun here, do you know any good bow and arrow makers?.
I carried mine in a hideout when I worked security in both unarmed and armed posts. My uniform was too much like a cop's for me NOT to be a target when I was guarding a bank.I'd rather have faced my boss for carrying when i wasn't licensed for armed service than to have him tell my folks what a great employee I was who'd take any post I was asked to cover. THAT's why I carried a gun:to have that chance to go home at night.
@TacticalGunGuy Yea i guess... I think its pretty tactical solution for most situations a civilian would encounter. I mean the pistol is small, lightweight and pretty fast firing. Im just tired of the over use of the word "tactical".
The model 21 is a sweet shooting little pistol surprisingly accurate for its size, and its nice to carry in a pocket or ankle holster.

@bmwnasher you can still have a butter knife though, so that's good. Soon it will be spoons only, no forks either.
