I have one of these on my desk at work. Such a gorgeous ship. When I'm bored I fly it around and go "pew pew pew". People give me the strangest looks from their cubicles.

One thing I wished the ship had was constant lighting. Like not hit the button and then it lights up with sounds, but it lights up and stays light.

It wouldnt be too hard to keep the lights ON just need to know a bit of know a bit how electronics works and you could modify it without damaging the kit and flip a switch and the lights will be on 24/7. Does the kit have screws on it or is the plastic been vacuumed sealed?

Does AMT or those other model companies make scale model kits like the other Enterprise models with the lights? Also I noticed the NCC-1701 lettering is not the same as the film the letterheads are not the same style.

I'm not sure if they make scale model kits yet. Maybe eventually they will, but as of right now I haven't seen any.

I see, because some of the model kits of today have gotten so advanced in the detail over the previous kits from 20 years ago that were so basic. Today they come with new lighting that makes the models really look the part.

@adammark2009 it was planned from Polar Lights, but they scrapped plans for it in favor of a 1/350 scale TOS Enterprise to be released in 2012.
