@aidrianblue77 Please!!!!! You white people must have that stamped on card somewhere tissss, lol. Blacks do not commit the "Most" crimes in the U.S. as they only make up about 11% of the population. I think what you mean to say is, as it relates to their numbers-they are far more likely to be involved in a crime. but the same holds true for now matter what race of people economically disadvantaged. This may surprise you but there are a lot of Law bidding blacks out there.
@rayamanelly I am sure there`s a lot of law "bidding" blacks out there, but statistically blacks are 7 times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and 8 times more likely to commit robbery.Of nearly 770 000 violent interracial crimes committed each year in the US,more than 80% is committed by blacks. I can go on and on with all the statistics about it ,but there really is no need since virtually everybody knows, regardless whether they want to admit that or not, that its true.
@rayamanelly I dont agree nor disagree with you. Im on the fence.. I realize these sad yet true facts... My original comments was of a guys trying to make humor, yet the racist as they may on the net always turn up and cast yet another bleak picture of the ugly under pining s of American life. Do me a fave will you, before you undertake yet another Wikipedia search for criminal statistics. Follow that up with visiting a black church to see how warm and friendly most of us actually are.
@rayamanelly The source is Department of Justice and its Source book of Criminal Justice Statistics. The idea that we must not speak, write or even think about those facts because they might feed "negative stereotypes" of non-whites is not gonna change anything. It is what it is, whether you like it or not.

@lestermagoo i moved up to Portland about a year and a half ago from Los Angeles. people here definitely embrace diversity more so than in LA, but i'm sure assumptions are still made purely on appearance. I was born in Portland and have lived here all of my life- I love it. It's environmentally friendly, one of the most bike-friendly cities in the world, has great food/great coffee, cool people, and great music! Downside would definitely be the weather, unless you like rain/overcast weather for 9 months. But in my opinion, it's worth it.
I have no problem living in Portland, Oregon; actually lived there for 3 years. There's plenty of sightseeing and shopping to do, personally, I hate the rain and the few people I've ran into up there are just straight up fat slobs that I personally hate. Don't apply for work @ODS in downtown Portland, they recycle people more than recycling machines recycle cans! They pay next to nil on the dollar and have a bunch of fat fucks who don't even have a higher education acting like doctors!

Take it from a native Tejano who visits as often as he can, the City of Portland and most all of the folks in it are as a fresh drink of water out of a hot dry dessert. My temps yesterday were 115 and were preceded by some 30+ days of triple digit temps with no end in sight. I will take rain, cool temps, cool folks any time over hot dry irritable any day.
@STR8NRG Well it isn't cool right now 96 last Saturday, its been high 80's with more 90's this weekend, full sun, and high humidity...down right miserable right now, damn do I need some air conditioning.
Is it wrong to say i wanna move to Portland from the UK? ;D
If it's true about the rainy season then it will feel like home. A friend from Norway moved there a few years ago he said it's like little norway the terrain is phenomenal like Fjords and the weather is great whether it is rainy, sunny or blizzard. Plus it's predominantly white=major bonus.
@homer0383 no!!!! those draining people are the ones who sulk inside and dont appreciate what the rain does for our environment. Without the rain, the diversity of the Northwest would be non existent! I LOVE THE RAIN for the beauty it brings to us. =)
@jmuch07 I'm considering moving to portland. Im afraid the weather would zapped my energy levels. It probably isn't that big of a deal. I'm looking for an apartment. What parts or neighborhoods are safer, well kept and not terribly expensive?
@homer0383 It is not rainy everyday here, you will see your sun, and when you do, it makes for all the rainy days before it is that beautiful. Do you hike? Snowboard? Bike? IF so, this is the perfect place to be, it is the active ones who don't mind. ITs all about lifestyle and mindset, those who dont go out and enjoy what nature offers to us are the ones who are suicidal haha. Portland is really safe- depends what kind of vibe you are drawn too. not too expensive at all! =) COME!!
at 2:03 in this video, is partly why my Norwegion Grandfather immigrated here in 1928. He thought Portland, Oregon looked so much like his native country and the Fjords. And of course, he loved our mild climate.
Great video. Was this taped in 2009 when we last had real summer sunny weather? I've lived here all my life and THIS year is the wettest coldest summer I can remember. If anyone has any spare sunshine, PLEASE send it our way!
I am moving here from Ireland for a year! and after watching this I am looking forward to it! I don't know anyone though so hopefully people are friendly in Portland :)
@harris0787 Where from in Ireland? I was in Dublin last year and it was great! I really want to go back. I happen to live in Portland. PM and I'll give you my e-mail if you ever need suggestions of anything of the sort.
Portland is one of the few last remaining great U.S. cities. Unfortunately, within the next few decades it will become overpopulated by people moving in from other ruined parts of the U.S. It's a shame really. My aunt lives in Portland and wishes it could stay pure.
@KyKni406 As an Oregonian, I don't know any kind of racial discrimination, except the fact that only Native Americans are allowed to open up casinos in my state.
The U.S. Constitution recognizes the sovereignty of American Indian tribal governments. Tribes are on par with states, not subservient to them. With tribal sovereignty comes certain unique rights, including the right to operate casinos. These casinos finance tribal government operations, the welfare of tribal members and economic development. Your position is thinly veiled bigotry against the indigenous population of this county.
Greatest city, in the greatest state in the US in my opinion. Love Oregon! Everything is green, and you're never more than half an hour to an hour drive from what every you want to do. From camping, fishing, hiking, off-roading, to big city life. I even love the rain (it does rain a WHOLE lot here), it keeps the air clean, everything green, and keeps the assholes away! Even though i love it here, as a native Oregonina, i'm obligated to tell you it sucks, so that you'll stay away.
and by the way.. I've been in the states for 7 months, I'm currently in Southern California, in my opinion it's the best place in America. But it's education, we have to move, so am trying to find a nice place..
Guys i'm an international student who got accepted at Portland State, and I got many other acceptances, I'm confused!! please I want your advice, do you advise me to go to portland? although i didn't visit it, i admire this city!!
@pumawey I went to Portland State for my first two years, and I absolutely loved it :) I'll never forget my experiences there- Portland is an amazing, unique city.
@DeftonesFan95 I'd really have to say during the holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas), Portland is not nearly as crowded as other places, and it's very easy to commute by bike anyways. There's a big fixie movement here right now, but I beat all those hipsters to the punch, lol. I have a conversion from 1992. But you like the Deftones? You'll fit right it! :D
@DeftonesFan95 I think the best time is in the summer even though there are more people visiting but there are SOOO many things to do outside in Portland that really make the summers even better. The weather is great and great parks, places to go boating, festivals, music and much more.
I've lived in many places around the US and this is the FIRST place that feels like "home." I absolutely love it...rain and all (which just gives you a great excuse to spend hours browsing the shelves of Powell's). Portland "gets it" regarding progressive, urban living.
I would estimate the weather is overcast about 90% of the time from November - May. Occasionally it's raining in June. July - September are beautiful and October it starts raining again. I love it in Portland but I admit I cannot wait for some sun/sunny weather.
Born and Bred baby. Portland has all the amenities of a small town but is actually quite big (over 2 million in the metro area.) Only misconception about Portland is that everyone here is a latte drinking, bike riding yipsters, which is far from the truth. Ive lived all over the West Coast and Portland is by far the most gentrified I have ever been too. But despite our differences we all get along, and we respect each other. That is why we are progressive. It is a very civic minded city.
Been to Portland at least 10 times. Great city but the people seriously need to fucking relax. Or maybe they just need to drink more of that coffee they are always raving about. The only cool people I met in my trips there literally were transplants from California.
I understand that you put the artist names in the description bar, but I'd still like to know what the name of the songs are. Especially the March 4th song. Plz! :)
portland is the best city i have every been to/lived in. easy travel around the city... super friendly people... by no means is the city dangerous... and....GREAT nightlife.
@UserNamei5 I used to live by mount hood. I remember by the max train gangs were hovering in the area. I will be going to portland in the summer though.
Progressive politicians, good coffee, great music, great art, great beer, great food, great public transit, awesome soccer team, lots of trees, the rain, bike friendliness, laid back feel, friendly people, and the only city that isn't affiliated with the FBI's joint terrorism task force. - all reasons why I'm moving here.
I have to debate on my future... I wanna move to New York in hopes od Broadway, but I am also in LOVE with the city I call home.
I have a few years to decide.
REALLY thinking I'm gonna stay, get an appartment downtown (where i LOVE), attend PSU, and continue with my writing, while acting in the background. :)
WOW, this is my favorite video ever. Nice work ! I wouldnt want to live anywhere else. And to the post a couple spots above me, we dont want people from other states moving here but youre more than welcome to come visit and shop tax free. :)
@akiroseh How can you say that it is overcast 2/3 of the time? From my experience it is nonstop sunny from around June - December and then there is really nice breaks during the rainy season. You sir do not seem like you know what you are talking about. Do you just never go outside or what?
@suckmyjaggon You have obviously never lived there. It is only guaranteed sunny from July to August. SOMETIMES it's sunny in June and September. All the way to December? LOL. November and December are terrible months as far as the rain and weather.
try making a love letter to sandy, oregon lol

at 2:03 in this video, is partly why my Norwegion Grandfather immigrated here in 1928. He thought Portland, Oregon looked so much like his native country and the Fjords. And of course, he loved our mild climate.
CindyPDX 6 months ago
Great video. Was this taped in 2009 when we last had real summer sunny weather? I've lived here all my life and THIS year is the wettest coldest summer I can remember. If anyone has any spare sunshine, PLEASE send it our way!

Portland is one of the few last remaining great U.S. cities. Unfortunately, within the next few decades it will become overpopulated by people moving in from other ruined parts of the U.S. It's a shame really. My aunt lives in Portland and wishes it could stay pure.
SagaciousSilence 8 months ago
Portland is AWESOME, but not very diverse. People really hate to talk about all the racism that exists here. Most ignore it. :(
KyKni406 8 months ago
@KyKni406 As an Oregonian, I don't know any kind of racial discrimination, except the fact that only Native Americans are allowed to open up casinos in my state.
oldblubblub 8 months ago
@oldblubblub
A little lesson in history:

Portland looks amazing. I'm considering visiting it in the near future. When's the best time to visit?
DeftonesFan95 9 months ago
@DeftonesFan95 I'd really have to say during the holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas), Portland is not nearly as crowded as other places, and it's very easy to commute by bike anyways. There's a big fixie movement here right now, but I beat all those hipsters to the punch, lol. I have a conversion from 1992. But you like the Deftones? You'll fit right it! :D

DeftonesFan95 9 months ago
@DeftonesFan95 Of course man! Rock and Roll is HUGE in Portland! There's tens, sometimes hundreds of local concerts a night all over the place.
brapboys503 9 months ago

Portland such a boring city
Samogon2009 10 months ago
Born and Bred baby. Portland has all the amenities of a small town but is actually quite big (over 2 million in the metro area.) Only misconception about Portland is that everyone here is a latte drinking, bike riding yipsters, which is far from the truth. Ive lived all over the West Coast and Portland is by far the most gentrified I have ever been too. But despite our differences we all get along, and we respect each other. That is why we are progressive. It is a very civic minded city.
jkoff76 10 months ago
Been to Portland at least 10 times. Great city but the people seriously need to fucking relax. Or maybe they just need to drink more of that coffee they are always raving about. The only cool people I met in my trips there literally were transplants from California.

Love my city
I have to debate on my future... I wanna move to New York in hopes od Broadway, but I am also in LOVE with the city I call home.
I have a few years to decide.
REALLY thinking I'm gonna stay, get an appartment downtown (where i LOVE), attend PSU, and continue with my writing, while acting in the background. :)
That sounds like my perfect life.

The only question is can you still love all of those wonderful things about Portland when it is overcast and dreary 2/3 of the time?
If you can, GREAT! Move here it's awesome.
Me myself, an Oregon resider for 15 years now, I'm trying to get down to The Bay. ;)
akiroseh 1 year ago
@akiroseh How can you say that it is overcast 2/3 of the time? From my experience it is nonstop sunny from around June - December and then there is really nice breaks during the rainy season. You sir do not seem like you know what you are talking about. Do you just never go outside or what?
suckmyjaggon 10 months ago
@suckmyjaggon You have obviously never lived there. It is only guaranteed sunny from July to August. SOMETIMES it's sunny in June and September. All the way to December? LOL. November and December are terrible months as far as the rain and weather.
