Thing is i've been reading for some time on this HD upgrade. I already chose the 200 GB 7200 rpm drive when i bought it. Considering it's not a user upgrade like the RAM upgrade, i've been wondering why Apple has not made it easier, like in the MacBook. Maybe a bigger HD means more energy consumption or maybe increased heat? Could that affect my MBP somehow? Mine is a Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz, 4GB ram. If i choose to go down this road, i'll probably go for a 500Gb 7200rpm. What do you think?
@isellmac I changed out my hard drive recently and used an empty coke can to prop up the keyboard, eliminating disconnecting the keyboard altogether...

hey, can you help me, at 3:55 in the video I can't take off the metal bracket. I am using a torq T6 screwdriver but when i push it into the screw hard to unscrew it, it just keeps turning and the screw doesn't budge. I have the Macbook Pro 15" 2.2GHz early 2008 model.

@KendraMeikrantz893 There are ways you could improve your English. The internet is not one of them.

Could they make it any simpler...I mean only 22+ screws? I remember when I had to do 50 on a mac.
MrDarcyzPP 1 year ago
There is no voice filter....the video is sped up. You don't actually think that this can be done in under six hours do you?
MrDarcyzPP 1 year ago
@MrDarcyzPP Hi, it can be done in about 30 minutes by a trained installer.

Oh man, if apple would see your videos, you would be fucked.
BlueBajs 2 years ago
@BlueBajs Actually you are allowed to upgrade the hard drive and RAM and it does NOT void your warranty.
SELLYOURMAC 2 years ago
No, it's that you're selling macs.. Apple owns the Macbook and they can sue the shit out of you.
BlueBajs 2 years ago
Maybe it's legal.

@NinjaDKDavid Maybe it's not?

Hey, quick question, what did you upgrade your RAM from and to? I am assuming from the 2GB to what?
jrt31169 2 years ago
Hi, I upgraded the RAM from 2gb to 4gb. thanks
SELLYOURMAC 2 years ago
Thanks! I was looking for places that would tell me that I could upgrade from 2 to 4gb. Any suggestions on what kind of RAM to buy?
jrt31169 2 years ago
I sell brand new RAM with a lifetime warranty. call me @ 513-965-1144 and I can walk you through the purchase. thanks, brian

Just why did you remove the keyboard for? You could have saved this step by carefully taping the top casing to the screen.
doginstine 2 years ago 2
you have to remove the keyboard to change out the hard drive. taping the keys to the screen would scratch or damage the LCD. thanks for viewing.

Thanks I always wanted to learn how to do this. I have tried it on my Mac book, which was a lot easier to upgrade. Great Video "Five Stars"
