That squid was over 77feet long, i remember this on the national geographic channel and the discovery channel.

I remember watching the actual video for it a while back, can't seem to find it again though.

What they did was attach the camera to a smaller squid, so that it would hopefully go back to where the bigger ones were. They ended up capturing that beast on camera and judged the size of its eye, using a formula for the lens they had in their camera, so that they could get an idea of how big it was in total.

I think they said that the squid was close to the length of a blue whale, if they're correct.
