  • STOP USE PICS ON YOUTUBE X_X

  • @2011new Blame the scientists who filmed it with .001 frames per second.

  • i liked the vid to make the likes and dislikes even

  • frightning

  • Also not sure why this video has 50% dislikes, what the hell was everyone here expecting? Hentai?

  • That squid was over 77feet long, i remember this on the national geographic channel and the discovery channel.

  • @DaggersDen It was around 30m feet long, actually.

The largest ever measured was just under 60 feet

  • @athull08 Yeah measured in a lab. This monster here was never captured and broke the steel line.

  • @DaggersDen No, it didn't break the line, it left one of it's tentacles on the hook, so they could measure the tentacle to get a good estmate of the total length

  • @athull08 I thought it broke the line and took a piece of its tentacle off? oh well could be mistaken.

  • @DaggersDen No, it's tentacle got hooked on the line. It was pulling for hours trying to free itself. Eventally the tentacle snapped off. When they pulled the line back up to the surface, the severed tentacle was still moving!

  • @athull08 Wow

  • @athull08 the largest ever estimated was 108ft. ;)

  • @SantaFishes101 Please tell me the source of that information, because I find that extremely hard to believe.

108 feet is the same length as the longest whale ever measured, so I cannot believe a squid could be that size

  • @athull08 I know its hard to believe, but they seriously have video evidence. It was on Monsterquest, so Im not sure of its credibility. But they have proof, and thats enough for me. :P and its actually that long, the tentacles are the longest thing. you know, the two. x3 its body is 1/3rd of 108 ft. I hate math. :L lol

  • @SantaFishes101 I will watch that episode when I get the chance, and see what I make of it. But from what I can tell so far, it was an EXTREMELY rough estimate.

  • @athull08 yeah, it was. xD didn't mean to come off as a smart-aleck earlier, but I just wanted to tell you that. x3

  • @SantaFishes101 No worries. As I said, I will reply once I've watched the episode, in a day or 2.

  • @athull08 they believe that those giant squid feed on the whales, and the whales on the squid in return...they have video documentation on national geographic of the sizes, scarring, etc on some of their videos , they also go on to say that some of the larger squids that washed up after natural disaters around the 1920 and 1970'? measured 112 and 120 feet and have photo documentation. thusly laying claim to whalers tales of giant krackens attacking the ships since those boats were only 35ft long

  • amigo estas de suerte le gustan 44 y no le gustan 44 hago desempate en me gusta =PPP

  • What the hell does Chris Broderick has to do with a giant squid?

  • It's not really a "giant" squid, it's just a fairly large squid in the Sea of Cortez.

  • @DisgustingOrphan its over forty feet its a gian squid

  • whoever you are that said this is an octopus, i just really really want you to think about what you said because you're a fucking idiot.

  • ahh i remember this it was some tv show ._. i forgot whats is called

  • @MrIIRAWR monster quest

  • Pretty sure giant squid don't have double row of suctions extending the entire length of the tentacles, where in this video it does. Looks like an octopus? Freeze frame at 0:19

  • @Fear1908 If it is, that's still a huge octopus..

  • @hrgtfs yeap, still massive

  • @Fear1908 No. It left a tentacle behind on the hook. The tentacle was DNA tested.

What you are looking at is an adult female Archituthis dux (Giant Squid). :D

  • @athull08 I realized it after I saw the contour of the head on the freeze frame, thanks for the heads up though

  • Not true many giant squids have been found dead but they where found

  • you guys know this is only photos is because they have no video of it. only photos.

  • @PoorDummIdiots Lol. That would be quite a load.

  • lag

  • Oh wait.. there's actually a link to those videos at the end of this one...

    I feel a little silly now :s

  • I remember watching the actual video for it a while back, can't seem to find it again though.

What they did was attach the camera to a smaller squid, so that it would hopefully go back to where the bigger ones were. They ended up capturing that beast on camera and judged the size of its eye, using a formula for the lens they had in their camera, so that they could get an idea of how big it was in total.

I think they said that the squid was close to the length of a blue whale, if they're correct.

  • @Kaoskage199 where and how did you find that outt??

  • it's either really big..........or close up to the camera

  • real terror squid.

  • @Nickchilla69 No it isn't. But the real quest epd. is way more epic. You can't see it near as well and it's a lot deeper. They sent a humbolt squid with a camera down to take pictures and it shows a giant squid almost twice the size as this one!

  • @EatingNoEYES Thats NOT wat she said.

  • @ecolegends1212 What's your source about this being 60 feet?

  • @MrGrAnPa69 it was on monster quest they estimated 30-120 feet due to poor footage.

  • @MrGrAnPa69 i saw the documentary, they say it's a 70-120ft long...
