There are a lot of things we do not understand. We as a human can only perceive in 3 dimensions and has a limited awareness of 4th dimension (time). I have also had a dream similar to yours, but with pain. However, dreams that I awake from with pain are often and not about abductions or aliens. For a couple of years I was scared as shit of aliens. I guess the dream itself was sprung due to psychological fear. As far as what happened in the dream (only one dream):

I awoke feeling needles, but on my arms, legs and back. I don't recall pain on my head nor my croch area or butt.

The first thing I saw was Earth, or what looked like the planet. It looked kinda strange, but I saw a planet. I saw the stars too. I was in outer space immobile due to the thick-ass needles everywhere I mentioned. It was like a small cell though with a big elliptical-like window (where I saw space and the planet).I was butt-naked, too, and in serious pain.

Along with cattle and alleged human mutilation I find the abduction phenomenon the most disturbing aspect of UFO research.

These creatures are not our "space brothers" and although they do appear to have an active interest in our development as a species I believe it to be in the same way that we observe with interest the workings of an ant colony.
