  • HI Amy, I just found your videos, but I have to say. I was realized on 07/07 and I can really relate to your frustration. When I went into the hospital I was at 248.8 and I fluctuate from 236 to 239 all the time!! I know. It is true that if we don't get enough calories our bodies do go into starvation mode. I am now on regular food. I get my first fill on Monday. So, I will tell you how things go, okay? Hang in there girl!

  • Thanks for the support. It's always good to know I'm not alone.. this week has gone much better though :D

  • You aren't eating enough calories or protein, you should be on minimum 1000 calories and 120 protein.

Your body is is starvation mode. Slider foods like soft food will not help.

  • Try to have some faith, I'm not too familiar with the band, but any weight loss surgery has go to work. I did the same thing you are doing now. Actually, my first few months I had days I couldnt even keep water down and was walking at least an hour every day. I didnt see any results until around May and had my surgery in Jan. It WILL happen, I know you dont believe it right now, but it will.

  • Amy it will be ok.. (hugs) I have faith in you and you are working so hard no wonder you are frustrated to the point of anger. It will happen.. just keep up with your water intake.. talk to your doc.(maybe you do need a few more calories with all the workouts and working you are doing) and maybe it is that t.o.m. is visiting. I hear that can really jack with your weight loss for a week or two.

You know who I love on here who I always look to for encouragement and she is a banded patient skymoon

  • I <3 Skymoon. She's a HUGE inspiration!!

  • I just watched her video that she has just hit goal.. gave me goosebumps :o)

Can't wait until we are both there!

  • Hey girl. Dont loose heart. Your time will come. I do know that if you arent getting enough calories your body will hold on to whatever calories it is getting. I am eating about 1200 calories a day. I am eating up to around 90 or 100 carbs. I am not excerisising yet. You may want to ask your dr about increasing your calories a bit. I also have the rash from the band aids. I ended up just taking them all off today. Dont give up. dont loose heart. Let your body heal. It will happen.

  • Is it possible that you are still retaining water from the surgery?

  • I don't think so..

  • I'm sorry you're angry....keep at it.

Are you getting too much sodium,? Too many carbs? Are you getting enough calories to actually lose weight..and lastly, are you drinking enough water?

  • My sodium intake is at about 60% and I try to drink 3-4 16oz bottles of water a day (though sometimes it's less because of my hectic schedule). And my dietitian says that I should definitely be getting more calories in but everything I eat is low/no fat.. low calories and no sugar. So even though I eat.. ALOT.. I don't get the calories.
