  • Hehe... so sorry this so boring. Sit back and enjoy Carmina Burrana.

  • at least you bothered to record it ..at 5 Fahrenheit ? that takes dedication !

I've seen many eclipses of the moon,a couple have been spectacular, cherry reds and deep orange one time.

Missed the eclipse of the sun though in 1999,it was clear for hours before and after but at the moment of totality a rogue cloud spoiled it....then it cleared and i just managed to see a diamond ring for a few seconds .

was an amazing experience though, temperature dropped about 10 degrees celsius.

  • Oh man... thanks. Yeah.. it was really freakin' cold that night, and I had to go inside a few times to warm up while the camera was still running.

This eclipse was beautiful... My camera really didn't do it justice.

I must have missed the 1999 solar eclipse... I do remember seeing one in 94 though.

  • the 99 eclipse was in Europe,so i'm not surprised you missed it lol .

Venus is great at the moment , though not for long, its approaching inferior conjunction, but great viewed in the day with a scope,if you can find it :)

  • Ah, ok... I'm here in the States, and we don't seem to luck out much on solar eclipses.

Oh nice... I heard about Venus, but I've yet to see it. I can usually pick it out at night, but I honestly haven't tried that hard as of late.

A few months ago... I foget.. I think it was Jupiter and Venus that were visible to the West almost right next to each other at dusk. that was fun... very bright.

  • ah,i see... for the next 2 weeks only Venus presents itself as a very thin crescent,(viewed at 50 to 150 magnification) telescope required, however after sunset it is far too bright to view telescopically, thats why you have to find it (fairly easily with binoculars) before sunset,it's a memorable sight :) but on a very clear blue sky day,you can ,with very keen eyesight ,see venus in broad daylight, optically unaided, although you have to know precisely where to look :)

  • Cool! I don't have a telescope, though... or binoculars for that matter.

It was cloudy today, but I'll try to look for it.

    Thank you.

  • Woo hoo! Very cool! Nice music too. Thanks for that.

  • Wow, thanks so much for putting this on!

We got up in time to see it but the cloud cover ruined everything. :(

    It's beautiful.

  • You're welcome.. I don't usually get to see the eclipses, so I thought I would get this one on tape. I would have caught more of the full cycle, but my battery was dying, and it was about 5 degrees F outside. I was freezing! lol
