  • HAI MOLDOVA!!!

  • hai Moldova!!!!!!!

  • He deserved to win this competition. I can't understand, for the life of me, why ray chen won. But, then that's politics.

  • @jason101other i thought the same, ......but i dun get the 'politics'......i mean, why is ray chen more politically correct?

  • listening to llian garnet performing this after fumiaki what's her name makes him sound like the greatest violinist who ever lived.

  • Superb! Fantastic! Just listening to it makes me feel happy and at ease. :)

  • @ViolinJeroen post yourself doing better then this

  • @ViolinJeroen ER NO

  • super!!!! bravo !!!

  • I think this guy takes after Maxim Vengerov

  • @MusicCloud1 Only difference being, Maxim looks like he jizzed his pants, this guy looks like he shat his pants.

  • amazing playing!!

(i still prefer the sarasate carmen fantasy though...please don't hate on me lol)

  • @aishas i kinda agree. sometimes i think its more lyrical and not just one relentless scale and arpeggio after another. still, i like both of them in different ways

  • Looks like the new oistrakh

  • Is piece alot more difficult than Saint-Saen's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso? Because I am learning it right now and I want to learn this piece next.

  • @rapter9800 It really depends on your reaction to the music. I've played the Saint Saens and looked at this piece and completely freaked. The music really looked quite ridiculous so I ended up doing the Sarasate Carmen instead ^^ haha but I would say that yes, this is piece is by far wayy more difficult though you may find the difficulty much different than I. All of us violinists are different :)

    Hope I helped a little!

  • Very convincing, indeed! Bravo, Ilian! I like the way you read the Carmen Fantasy.

  • holy crap!

  • wow this is actually pretty damn impressive rofl, i wasnt expecting it to be as good as this when i clicked on the video

  • Well practiced, no doubt, he can play and is utterly brilliant in technique and tone. But I like Sergey Khachatryan MUCH better in terms of musicality and passion, - and own style of interpreting the music. Here after all it still is a brilliant show of of skills, but with Khachatryan it becoms vital music making.

  • I absolutely agree with you.

  • if he had Ray's abilities he'd be 1st prize winner!but he's very good in his own way

  • @sunyuloveu :@ taran borit :D

  • He sounds great in this video, but it was incredible live! The first round and the semifinal are always done in the Auditorium of the Brussels Conservatorium and you can feel the tension on the air! Great performance!!!

  • tank a big deserved bow!!! bravo! bravo!

  • Bravo!

  • Amazing!!! FOC!!!!

  • The seguedilla section of the Fantasy had--after the opening phrases--a little hint of that dangerously flirtatious Carmen we all know from the opera, but all too often these days I feel that, instead of the music on the stand, every solo violinist is actually playing the 1812 Overture in his or her head. Andy Roddick, anybody?

The violin and its literature are so much richer...

  • I love everything about this guy's playing. From his tone and approach to the the weird little faces he makes and wild deportment, I am completely convinced.
