  • Always super, Simon Leach.

  • Hi Simon!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the new glazes look after firing. Love the "anything can be a tool" idea! I find myself looking at shapes, forms, textures all day long and wondering how I can create it in clay...to say I'm addicted is an understatement :) Your videos are the best and like usual...always inspiring!

  • Simon - Would you talk a little more about how you "double dip" your pots? It seems like you use the vacuum created and somehow draw glaze up and into the pot, anyway, it's very interesting... I'm guessing this is what "kruklena" calls the "Leach-jerk"?

    - Amanda

  • Can't wait for the results.

  • I love those teabowls. And for shure - every tool is good as long as it works! I´ll buy the screwstamp idea! And why not try the screwdecoration on the big bowl you made the other day that looked like a big machine-nut! :)

I have tried this famous "Leach-jerk" quite a few times - but do take some practice...

  • Thanks grimwurks,

    Thank you Simon as well!

I would be a little affraid to cause a dunt in my bowls with that burp maneuver, green ware is funny that way, isn't?

  • Hi Simon,

Found this reference to a book that if you do not already have it might be worth looking at. Glazes from Natural Sources: A Working Handbook for Potters By Brian Sutherland. A review is available on Google. Keep up the great work!
