  • @kellyoneill It's originally called the Calton Weaver. It's a scottish folk song

  • Cobblestones are a small folk band from germany, you can find them on Myspace under cobblestonesfolk. :-)

    I love the little russian part they brought in, "Wodka Wodka, Nadya Wodka" :-D

    The classic Dubliners line-up of Ciaran, Barney, Ronnie, Luke and John made some great lps together. I managed to get them all on vinyl via ebay for next to nothing. My personal recommendations are 'Finnegan's Wake', 'More of the Hard Stuff', 'Live at the Albert Hall' and 'At Home With the Dubliners'. You can't really go wrong though, they're all awesome.

  • Well done, thanks for sharing this, a good account of this song. I'm a Glaswegian and my family oddly enough were Calton weavers (and shoemakers) living in the Glasgow Calton who got themselves caught up in all that naughty revolutionary nonsense of 1820. ;-)
