Let me tell you why the Mekong river has such large catfish and other large fishes than any other river in the world. It's because during the Vietnam war there are so many people die and the majority of them are thrown into the river where the fishes get to eat them. There are millions people died while crossing the river into Thailand. The fishes get to eat them that's why they grew so big. Don't believe me? Just feed the fishes in other countries human flesh and you'll find out.

mekong giant catfish unfortunately not the biggest freshwater fresh. Look up the giant freshwater sting ray. It will surpass in terms of length(up to 16ft) and weight(up to 1600lb)

I've vacation in Laos so many times. The Mekong River has the largest catfish in the world. Besides that, The Khone Falls in southern Laos is the widest waterfall in the world! About 6 miles wide! The best time to see it is during the monsoon rain season. It's awesome! The Garden of Eden!

It's a very hardy fish and the NG reporter is handling this fish in the best possible way. Most of the sport fishermen in this paypond do take the fishes out of the water for photography and then release it.
