I had a brew in there for a few months and I couldn't locate the off flavor I was getting. I spoke to a few other home brewers and it actually turned out that because I dry hopped with hop pellets, I got the plastic flavor, it wasn't this conical (for me, at least). The next time I dry hopped, I used whole hops and the plastic flavor was gone.

Do you get off flavors with that fermenter?..I have the same one always gives a plastic off flavor/smell

Boo for brass. Beer has a pH of 4-4.2

@Decanthas --you can pickle it, besides, the amount of contact is minimal -- seriously people get all worried about brass
