  • yeah im coming down from baltimore to louisiana to slap u. most definitly.

  • yo what up! check out Lupe Fiasco's hurt me soul and a song you might like is sunshine. them songs r so good. you should get your hands on Lupe Fiasco Food & Liquor some how I'm sure you would like it. beware lupe would become one of your favorite rappers of all time. lol Nice videos. i like the prospective you come from and how you break it down.

  • Alright so I watched all the videos in order and wasn't surprised by the results, even though I took all your opinions into consideration I still feel this was a weak list and it needs to be completely rethought. One of your opinions I disagree with the most is the beat and flow of the song over the lyrics which I feel is wrong. I think Lyrical talent and delivery is more important than any other aspect of a song. So if you can comment me back I'll give you my thoughts on a top ten list.

  • Thanks. The reason I say that the flow must compliment the track is because this is what's going to make someone stop and listen to the music. I also said that what makes a great artist is someone whose lyrics is just as tight as there flow. Cuz u can have great lyrics but if they are not delivered correctly, the goal is not accomplished. So I in no way underestimate the power of great lyrics. I will rethink my list. So let me know who would be on your top ten and why if u can.

  • My top ten would be: Jamie Madrox Mad Child Immortal Technique Tech N9ne Aesop Rock Prozak UnderRated ILL Bill Vinnie Paz Sabac Red And as to why you'll see when you look them up.
  • Give me a minute and I'll holla back.

  • Hey What's up...are there any favorite songs or certain songs that you want me to look up while checking these artist out?

  • not really

  • But I am definetely going to get jamie Madrox's albums. I like all the songs that I heard by him. He flows and harmonizes well with the tracks. Good looking out. So if I had to add anyone to my top ten who would you pick for me?

  • Hey what's up...I checked out your top ten. I listened to at least 3 songs from each artist. I bet you can guess who my favorite is. Yep...Jamie Madrox!! This guy goes hard. But what I noticed about all your artist like you said is the difference in lyrics. These guys all have a story to tell. Aesop rock has skills. Prozak is really good. Liked his style and his hooks. ILL Bill has great lyrics. He kinda reminds me of DMX.Vinnie Paz has an old school vibe to him but can rap.Jamie go hard!!

  • That's good I'm glad you liked them all. The thing with Jamie Madrox is he is part of a rap duo with Monoxide called Twiztid so you might want to check them both out. Another thing you should know is that their record label Psychopathic Records has a very loyal fan base called Juggalos you might want to do a little research on us and the record label we represent, love and admire =] peace!

  • Honestly if you listen to any emcee from new york you will hear that there better then Lil Wayne. A lot of people don't know what Hip-Hop is, and if you think Lil Wayne is a great "artist" (I use the term artist loosely) then you don't know what real Hip-Hop is. Lil Wayne is Hip-Pop, dude sounds like he's twelve years old.

  • Whether he's hip hop or hip pop doesn't matter to me. I'm judging music that makes hits and the artist behind the work.

  • Well hip hop is supposed to be unique and you can find alot of industrial rappers who talk about the same shit when the music stops being real and everyone talks about the same shit thats when the music becomes trash lil wayne is honestly one of the worse rappers i've ever heard and honestly he's overrated

  • You should have saved this conversation for one of your friends instead of taking up space on youtube

  • Well sorry you feel that way.

  • Ok that is true. Yes, I will listen to these artist that you say because I want to be as open as can be. Eminem I do know that his lyrics do make you think. I will get back with you.

  • Ok here's the thing: Lil' Wayne is good at what he does, but that is NOT making meaningful music. He makes good party music, he has a unique style, and a unique voice. But that's it. There's not a single song by him I could say is meaningful at all. Listen to Nas, Pac, Scarface, KRS-One, Eminem etc. their songs are actually SAYING something. You cannot listen to songs like Changes (2Pac), and Seen a Man Die (Scarface) without getting some kind of message from them.

  • lil dicksucker watever his name is, sucks all he talks about is women and money and most things he says is stupid and everyone thinks that just because it rhymes they dont have to listen to wtf he says

  • Yes, Lil Wayne talks about stuff that we really don't need to listen to. So yes. But if we talk about his ability, he is good.

  • No he doesnt write his own lyrics thats why he can come out with so many songs Gillie Tha Kid wrote the entire Carter 2 and for everything else its unknown thats why he says ghost writer because nobody knows who writes his songs so basically hes a puppet Get ya Facts right

  • Okay.. obviously you know what you are saying you have some interesting points.. that the MAINSTREAM media has implemented on you. I bet you are those people that listen to the radio and MTV, BET.. But Do this.. stop viewing and listening to them for a week or more if you can. then only listen to music that We " the Haters" like and tell us that it has no meaning or its not better than lil wayne. Listen to 2pac, KRS, Ice Cube..

  • Ok. Will do. but I am not one of the people that listen to or watch MTV or Bet. I'll get back with you on the ones you requested because I want to be open to everything that I possibly can.

  • 1 he dont write or make beats hes a puppet basically and almoost every song he ever done had ripped lyrics

  • Lil Wayne writes his own raps. He may not make his own beats but there are so many artist that don't make their own beats.

  • As far as copying, Wayne copies everyone else's lyrics, from Hip Hop to R and B. He has NO STYLE!

  • I have to argue with yo on that one. Lil Wayne has style and one that is unique. It stands out from any and everyone. It may be a style that you may not necessarily like.

  • Ok...let's go with your theory. You say that it is "the escape of Governmental Neglect of the struggles and corruption of inner city youth founded in the early 70's on the foundation of Peace, Unity, Love, and having Fun". Whose to say that Lil Wayne isn't escaping Governmental Neglect and whose to say that he's not having fun if that is one of the foundations of hip hop? Whose to say what meaning is? Meaning to Lil Wayne could be just what he's rapping about.

  • Just because Lil Wayne's message may not have the meaning that you are looking for doesn't mean that what he says doesn't have meaning. Lil Wayne as matter of fact is telling a story. He tells us in his raps where he started from and how he's at the top in his life. what he calls a success. Lil Wayne may appear to be boastful but that doesn't eliminate him from being in the category of Hip Hop. In this world there is always someone who helps someone else and someone who inspires someone else.

  • And someone who influences someone else. Every body is not for everybody. There is someone that is inspired by Lil Wayne's success who is looking at it and saying I can do it. I can be successful like him. He started out ok and he made it. He went from this level to this level and I can do this too. There is someone who is saying that. And you are right when you say Lil Wayne is not Hip Hop. Lil Wayne is part of Hip Hop which has expanded so much since as time passed.

  • Just as time changes so does style, people, and people that are apart of Hip Hop. Because to people that are born now, this is Hip Hop. This is an escape for some. Thanks for discussing this with me.

  • But to view him as apart of Hip Hop or not is totally up to us. But even if you don't consider him to be apart of Hip Hop doesn't mean that he isn't talented. Just be open hearted to music whether we believe it is Hip Hop or not.Even though we may not agree on several things. But let's give credit to the people that deserve it.And we don't have to be harsh to these people. Because I just don't believe that Lil Wayne will be where he is today if he didn't have talent. So if not, he is talented.

  • "But let's give credit to the people that deserve it." - I personally have always given Lil Wayne credit he is very successful artist and many people won't question that either...he has obviously capture the hearts of we all applaud that HOWEVER I feel that some people give him credit based on the wrong things once again I'm looking at it from a "Hip Hop Music" stand point I'm not looking at the person Lil Wayne...

  • Ok. Well at least we are giving credit to the people that deserve it. But the subject of Hip Hop is another topic.

  • ...Lil Wayne as a person might be a wonderful and kind person but im looking at him as an artist & how he is presenting his MUSIC...No one is really saying Lil Wayne is not talented or questioning how he got where he is at BUT we are questioning his Lyrical ability rightfully so since in Rap its important...what I've said maybe subjective but people in the Hip Hop Community may understand where I'm coming from :-)

  • Ok. Cool. We are on the same page. But he does have points where his lyrics are tight. They may not be as consistant as others because he usually talks about stuff thats vulgar and in the gutter.

  • I see your very captivated by the Beats instead of what is really being said am I wrong? : )

Yes Lil Wayne compliments the beats but what is he really saying that captivates you im just curious to understand from a person who listens and enjoys Lil Wayne :

  • Well, yes, that is true what you are saying. I am not saying whether he is a representative or not or hip hop. I am only taking the artist that are out and judging them by what they do best. In this judge it wouldn't matter to me if he was in hip hop or skip scotch. And you are right most of his stuff doesn't have a positive meaning to it but I am not judging that. I am only listening for what captures my ear from the rap to the beat and how they make what they do sound good.

  • Yes Lil Wayne is part of Hip Hop in terms of recording music as a Rapper BUT its clear that he's not true representation of Hip Hop Music from a traditional & creative side of it I believe he just happens to record Rap Music in a studio which is nothing wrong BUT i truly believe he does not real care much about the the culture of Hop Hop (I have no proof of this I maybe wrong just a gut feeling)

  • That could very well be true. And I agree that he may not care about the culture of Hip Hop. I can not argue with that.

  • First: Fact! Lil Wayne is NOT Hip Hop. People continue to discuss his record sales not having a clue about what Marketing is. Go ahead and enjoy his music which is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion and have their taste but it seems like too many people appreciate a lack of talent in an artist. Keep Hip Hop Alive. One, Maka

  • So are you saying that Lil Wayne is not talented? But my opinion has nothing to do with sales or his marketing strategies. So in your definition what is hip hop?

  • Hip Hop is the escape of Governmental Neglect of the struggles and corruption of inner city youth founded in the early 70's on the foundation of Peace, Unity, Love, and having Fun established on November 12, 1973 by Afrika Bambaataa. Hip Hop is a form of expression sending a message, having a meaning, or a form of story telling in contrast with the elements. An emcee is a representative of Hip Hop Culture. A rapper is a representative of corporate interest. Any questions? One, Maka
