If the government created a new wide-scale plan forcing us to invest our Social Security money in the stock market (a la President Bush's idea), that would be much more akin to Communism. No one here is saying that corporations shouldn't have the freedom to do business where they choose, but at the same time, I have right to choose in what I invest. You missed the point completely!

Wouldn't it be better to just slowly phase out Social Security towards the private sector until the government just doesn't even tax you at all? As for the corporations thing: I was referring to him talking ill of shipping jobs overseas, which is a direct result of over-taxation of business.

During Bush's first 6 years (2001-2007) the national debt went from 5.7 Trillion Dollars to 8.7 Trillion Dollars or 3 Trillion Dollar Increase.

During the the Democrat Led Congress 4 years (2007-2010) the National Debt went from 8.7 Trillion Dollars 14.Trillion Dollars or 5.3 Trillion Dollar Increase.

Bailing out GM saved the jobs of not just GM employees, but employees of GM's vendors. Why is that considered a negative move?
