pity the sreet engines they falsely advertise dont have half the power they say they do. maybe they do on their in house dyno, but just not on any 1 elses!
COME 1 version # 1 was totalled in '91 at the Calder Park Drag Nationals of that year. This car was built to replace it in '93 and went on to hold the Australian Super Sedan SS/A record till 2003. It is still ALIVE and very, very strong.
Wait isn't Issy driving this? I thought Sam was the driver of the Cutty....That's what I rmember...Mind you I was like 11 when I saw you guys last....I can remember Issy driving it out of the factory and putting it on the trailer...OMG what a sound...makes you rush hard!!!!
sam, also do u run a rpm activated shift? also what (brand, model# etc) cam did you use to get the incar footage?.i want to fit one in pinkstuff, but dont want to spend big bucks.......lol
That white LJ has a real history. I bought the car brand new in 1973. Fitted 308 in '75 for the street...13.0's on street tyres. Fitted 400 Small Block and N2O in '78...10.29 @138. Became full time race car in '82 with BB Chev running mid 9's. Then we sold it. Good luck with it. Always been a great car.
thanks sam,ive had it for about 4 years now, bought it of a guy in nowra(nsw) who bought it of sam fedele of S.A race transmissions, its been around lol. we run at wsid, best of 9.27@141 (SS/A) spends the first 60' hard up on the bars and all i see is sky! i lost the whole drivetrain while leading the track championship last year, shattered the glide and broke the shaft.rebuilding with dedanbear case and all 1350 cromoly stuff.still runs the dana60 though!
that's one awesome holden motor! glad to see a holden motor pulling great numbers rather than just going to a chev motor.... how much horsepower does that motor have?..is it Natrually Aspirated? or Nitrous?
there is something erotic about a V8 in a LC/LJ torrie. I guess the government stopped it back in the early 70's, so its the middle finger salute and a wheelstand to the government
Sorry to dissappoint but it's a Holden 383 in the Torana for these runs. The BB Chev was removed in 1995. Must admit that doing 8.20 @167 with a normally aspirated BB was a lot of fun back then.
sorry Sam...no dissapoint here as a huge fan of the local bent 8! U guys rock...have run one of ur 355 bracketmaster engines in the past...many shops can always quote big numbers, but u guys deliver on the track.Nuthin but praise 4 u guys, leaders in stroker cranks yrs ago & nowdays 4 everything! cheers Andrew

No it wasn't. That 1st one was a 4 door. You are right about the roll cage though, it saved baldy's ass.

"half the power?" That's funny, you're the first one in over 30 years to make that ridiculous claim.

laurence265 4 years ago
660 bhp normally aspirated. 890bhp on N2O We usually run it with a conservative hit of nitrous...about 820-840 bhp is usually seen in the mph result.
