I wonder if there is a point where the fireys reckon it is just as well to let it burn down completely for simplicity's sake while protecting the neighbours. Otherwise its dangerous and expensive to demolish an start again for a two storey, and what could you salvage anyway if its well alight?

The first fire hose closest seemed to be doing nothing but going right through the flame, instead of at the base of the fire.

The first line spraying was trying to protect the two neighboring houses (protecting exposures).
