To me, communism is emotional reasoning. For those of us with the right emotional framework, fears and traumas, the ideas of economic and social equality are just comforting.

I don't know if communism is economically feasible in reality, but if people want to try it out on purely voluntary terms, go ahead. Ultimately, I think that the non-dogmatic individuality is the best course though.

USSR was not a socialist-state, but a state-capitalist system, with some elements of fascism, just like USA, Nazi Germany and Chile under Pinochet
