The resurrection is actually a pretty well-supported historical fact. Jesus did live, he did claim all of the things in the bible, and he was crucified. Nobody should have a problem accepting that. Then 3 days later, his tomb was empty, and after that day many many people saw him alive. If people at the time were spreading fake accounts of what happened, wouldn't all of the strongly anti-christian skeptics at the time have immediately corrected them and proven wrong their claims?

The resurrection is actually a pretty well-supported historical fact. Jesus did live, he did claim all of the things in the bible, and he was crucified. Nobody should have a problem accepting that. Then 3 days later, his tomb was empty, and after that day many many people saw him alive. If people at the time were spreading fake accounts of what happened, wouldn't all of the strongly anti-christian skeptics at the time have immediately corrected them and proven wrong their claims?

You don't think the radicals who were spreading rumors and upsetting the normal order of things would have any and every slip up of theirs singled out and magnified by the pharisees or the Romans? These people hated Jesus so much that they killed him. They would have jumped at the chance to disprove any part of their message.

That's not at all how the old church worked. They would have recorded it all and published his downfall as wide spread as they could, so they could prove that Jesus was not the messiah and their church was still the right one. Those old time religious people were extremely strict and by the book. They wouldn't have just ignored the massive movement, thinking it would blow over.

Working on sunday, disobeying your parents, losing your virginity before marriage(if you're a girl). Do you really think anyone who told the kinds of people who followed those laws that they were wrong would survive long enough to write it down? Know your facts man. It was not anywhere near thousands of years. The first three gospels (Matthew Mark and Luke) were written even before 70 A.D., and the other books were all finished before the close of the first century.

You seem to forget that the Bible is made of several seperate accounts and correlating stories that were put together into the Bible, not one story written by a bunch of people cross-examining to make sure their accounts matched. But if you demand other records outside of the ones compiled into the Bible, try: Josephus's writings, the Quran, Hippocrates, the headboard that labeled him "King of the Jews", the shroud of Turin. I'm sure there's more to list.

You'd be right if the church was powerful then, but at the time the pharisees and other firm jews were opposed to Christ, and they had the most influence in society. They would have tried to erase Jesus from the history books, not the other way around.
