  • I still love it today

  • How Fun is that?!!!...:) Karen

  • patty nice

  • 10:32 the grinch's kids, lol!!!

  • how did i get here?

  • dr suess and his acid trips hahjhaa

  • we watched this in the school during libary

  • at 11:04 it says bastardly.

  • @ThePrinceDhani no, it says dastardly. :P

  • Family Guy ruined this for me. Every time I hear "Horton" I will think "Horton Hears Domestic Violence In The Other Room and Doesn't Call 911." and I will think "Oh, Horton, you complacent bastard."

    Clearly I have no life.

  • Geez...I learned so many vocabulary words from the Wickersham brothers. Then later on I forgot where I'd first heard them. Now I study politics :)

  • Such a strong allusion to the religious conservative backlash against the findings of science. Dr. Seuss had such a talent for portraying tough social issues to a younger audience.

  • @bkaminski824 its at 4:09

  • used to watch this as a kid with my dad, brother and sister... happy memories :)

  • I love these Dr. Seuss stories their cool! =)

  • In the early days of the anti-abortion movement, they used Horton's words at 2:10 ("A person's a person, no matter how small") to plead their case. Some protestors even put Horton's picture on their signs!

  • @WSenator1 And they got sued for it because that wasn't the point Dr. Suess was trying to make.

  • @2wingo - Oh, really! Very interesting. Thanks for the info. Have a good day.

  • Did one of the moneys say Bastard?

  • I wonder if they made Horton look like a vagina at 3:35 on purpose? hahahahaha

  • 15th of may???? My birthday!!!!

  • Did that kid just call him mom Ma'am?

  • As with every adaptation of the same Seuss book, this and the 2008 version each have their own merits and flaws, being products of their time. I respect both of them equally, and prefer not to compare.

  • I love Chuck Jones cartoons and Dr. Seuss stories.

  • Dr. Seuss is a genius.

  • @tmt007 Was that even English?

  • I personally prefer the 2008 version.

  • Man there are a lot of busy body housewives in this.

  • i love how the kangaroos keep snapping their glasses like that

  • ah, theoretical physics analogies for children.

    i LOVE dr. seuss

  • I just feel I should say - Horton (and Doc Whovey and the Narrator) are voiced by Dr. Seuss' good friend Hans Conried who usually played scheming villainous types.

Here he plays Horton like the big-hearted dupe he's meant to be, and pulls it off.

  • @WillScarlet16 - Kinda like what movie mad scientist Boris Karloff did for Seuss' "Grinch."

  • @WSenator1 This is a different narrator.

  • at 11:04 did the winkershimps say bastardly?

  • @WooPatrick1234 Fortunately, no, they said "Dastardly" =o

Pretty close, I know ^_^;; The meanings aren't that far apart, either

  • @patrick9654 Sorry for asking a kind of dumb question, I have a hearing problem, so it will hear right, then hear wrong now and then, so sometimes I need help.

  • @WooPatrick1234 It's ok. I'm sorry for being so rude.

  • @patrick9654 Let me assure you, you were not being rude at all, I was just explaining why I asked.

  • @WooPatrick1234 oh ok.

  • What's with all the birds only? XD

  • What's with all the birds only? XD

  • this takes me back for when gay means happy and fag means bikers but im 12 so i dont remember it just miss watching the old cartoons that are like this they make me wanna ask myself why is everything today sucks

  • @commanderflames I ask myself the same thing bro. Dark times are coming... Lets try to make the best of our futures..

  • Dr.Whovie looks like Geppetto from the Disney movie Pinocchio.

  • the new shouldnt have even been made. the new one is way better! plus it brings back memories of eating cake by the fireplace and watching this with my parents (although most of the time they fell asleep) and singing along to all the songs!

  • "Horton's Skitzawitzafistick!"

    I'm so using that!!! xD

  • The Whickersam Brothers song reminds me of Heffalumps and Woozles from WINNIE THE POOH AND THE BLUSTERY DAY......... Both used to scare the heck out of me!

Personally, I like the 2008 Horton movie better.

  • 12:01 always scared the shit out of me when I was a kid

  • I love the song of this from seussical the musical! Theres a song called biggest blame fool and it goes 'HUMPF humfed a voice, twas a soooouuuur kangaroooo, andt he young kangaroo in her pouch said HUMPF tooooooooo'!

  • Old Doc Whovey, he talk through a hose, who all doc talk to, nobody knows, then he say MY DEAR its perfectly clear that the world is a sittin' on an elephants nose.... Love it!

  • @mattdelab shoulda checked in the atic

  • finally i found this!! me and my friends were looking for this for a year now!!

  • i do believe my mom watchet this when she was little.

  • oh wow these are the exact lyrics they use for Horton Hears a Who in Seussical

  • @ictenor It was originally from the book, you know.

  • oh my god i remember watching this like in the second grade :')

  • trippin on acid right now... this was crazy

  • 50 k viewer

  • Wickersham brothers' song.....one of the best villain songs ever!

  • im a wick in the play lol

  • Did the wicks say bastardly?

  • @HeartOfMonsters I think they did!

  • @HeartOfMonsters

    Dasterdly, probably.

  • I love the Wickersham Brothers' song. It's weird how spot on to people's reactions it is. Considering the lyrics themselves are by Suess, a former political cartoonist, I wonder how'd he feel about today's political environment...

But that's flame bait, and neither here nor there. This video is awesome, and so is the song.

  • Isn't it a shame they have to remake all the wonderful, innocent, good feeling cartoons, and movies, and ruin it by putting todays talentless Hollywood people in just to make money. Today kids have no idea what innocence is about, unless parents, and grandparents play these classic cartoons, and movies.

  • These are the exact type of classic videos that need to be permitted to b shared forever on Youtube. With our corporate noses worried about making a penny. Keep up the good posting and finds..............

  • @popstoastymonkey I totally thought that too! Btw, did anybody find this much...creepier than they remembered? Because that's what I was thinking.

  • I have been looking for this version for a long time!!! Thanks!

  • Excellent cartoon, I watched this version in Croatian (my language) in 1989 and it was much better synchronised than the new one, it was a masterpiece of synchronisation.

  • Nool's Population is Mostly Females, how Fitting.

  • Kangaroo's Real name is Jane??

  • I watched this cartoon, however translated to Croat, when I was young kid. It was one of my favorite cartoons from my childhood, and I recently watched 2008 version - it's good but this is 10 times better. It just have that special feeling. Thanks for uploading ;D !

  • this is so trippy

  • they said Bastardly!

  • @authorgirl2010 replace the b with a d and you have the right word they said.

  • did any one else read the title: " Horton Hears A Who, part one out of two" in a dr. sues voice.

  • The Wikerson Brother's look's a little bit like The Grinch.

  • Th-thank you for restoring my childhood ;w;

  • Lol All of the gossipers were female. Sexism much?

  • @fbajwa1 and yet the politically correct 2008 film wasn't even that good

  • I was thinking couldn't Horton just run away?

  • @musicfiend1031 Horton lived on an island, how far can he run?

  • Through this whole special i was thinking WHAT THE *#$%

  • Schitsophistowistic, I'm geussing thats the Dr. Seuss form of Schizophrenic

  • So good to see this story without the presence of Jim Carrey. Horton is supposed to be innocent and soft-spoken, not loud and obnoxious.

  • Dr. Whovie looks like former ambassador John Bolton.

  • My favorite scene in the first part of the movie is when the Blue monkeys make their

    first apperance.

  • I love this version better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In my opinion, to all you people who commented, I think this version is a lot better than the 2008 one. Just thought I'd let you know.

  • @Tune256 what are you smokin

  • @Tune256 where did you get this special?

  • @Tune256 I agree.

  • @Tune256 i agree

  • @Tune256 Could you please upload A Troll in Central Park and upload it from someone else's British DVD as well as some more tragic looking Disney scenes including the part where Russell is angry with Carl because of Kevin's disappearance?

  • @Tune256 i agree trully i do
