This is by far the best orchestral arrangement of BWV565 I've ever heard. When listening to this I don't care how it was originally intended, it just sounds fun! :D
@ologhai2 The J.S. Bach orchestral transcriptions, is practice that started in the late 19th centurt, and was in vogue for the first of half of the 20th century. Don't worry, they are fun!!! No horrors, no tears, no headaches!
Everything is going to be OK. Just relax and have fun!
Leonidas Leonardi For The Win!! Be bound to remember LEONIDAS LEONARDI!
@ologhai2 Bach's music is timeless! Alot of critics and people are saying Bach's music is too modern and contemporary for baroque and some of his fugues sounded very "modern". They're surprised to find such music from the pen of a baroque composer! This is what I read and I strongly agreed.
Hmmm. Orchestration is alright, but I cant say I really like it for orchestra...or any instrument other than organ for that matter. I've seen videos of it on everything, from marimba to violin, and IMO it just doesn't work...it ends up sounding cheesy and unbalanced..
This is great!! I am happy to see that other people also enjoy fine classical music. Since you posted this there are 33 views, and I get to be the first to comment... If you like JS Bach, please check Toccata and Fugue in d minor, at St. Augustines' Cathedral. massive pipe organ, approx 9:38 secs on You Tube. The organists name I have forgotten. I found your channel by viewing AV-8B vid.
@BuzzDyou, Thanks for the comments! The point is that we need to reach consencus about J.S. Bach orchestral transcriptions. As you know, there are innumerable recordings for Bach's original works (organ works, etc), but there are only a few (recordings) about J.S. Bach orchestral transcriptions. This of course is disheartening (news) and needs to change... We must find a way for these 2 to co-exist (the orginal works, and the orchestrations).

to me the best orchestrated version (by wood), nearest to the feeling of bach, which is also a bit wild

A monumental transcription ! _ and a very characterful alternative to the transcription by Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, that I love mostly.
Marvelously performance ! _ Just BRILLIANT !!!!!

Weird to hear a baroque piece given a romantic period arrangement.
