  • Quick stop!

  • shit those are some good brakes.. to 'those' people, do you think airlines would keep the massive AIRBUS A340 rather than put their own logo's on it?

  • STAND ON ALL THE PEDALS

  • A demonstration in why you really should turn your mobile phone off when asked.

  • WOHOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW, I WANNA TO KNOW IF IT'S HOT.

  • test drive nothing special :-)

  • it stopped kind of fast, something like a fighter jet

  • someone spilled their coffee

  • what that hell was so hard about that? Just an emergency landing stop!! Nice noting new. Plus this was a TEST aircraft. no other company markings are on it!!!

  • @wolfmanjeffrey he said nothing about it being 'hard' whatever that means, neither did he say it was a specific airline so pipe down Jeffrey

  • No reverse thrust was used...

  • Wow that is a short land .. come on as soon as lift spilers are up .. all weight on wheels.. That stopped in less that 300m == length of my street!!

  • Was that a test flight of Airbus?

  • Incredible stopping distance!

  • ahhhh.. the spiders are eating my eyes

  • I wonder how long my citreon saxo brakes would last on that plane...

  • The most important part of a landing is then braking in my opinion.

  • i ment to say it on youtube i dident know

  • i was on that plane lol :D it on you i dident know

  • When that plane landed my dick got hard

  • Aexmndz come on airplane brakes are just made for then not for u not for me not for somebody else don't have a 747 to use it ok if u want there some brembo brake out there perfectly fit to ur car well if u can afford it.... : )

  • WTH HE HAD T00 TiNKLE DATS Y HE HEAViLY BRAKED..!

  • Nice brakes damn!

  • Holy shit!!! That beast grinded to a halt in no time!!! Those are some badass brakes. Anyone know where I can get them for my car? :D

  • @aexmndz yeah the airbus isle at walmart

  • why is part of the "A340" paint sign not there

  • @ghettoperson257 i guess the freight door has been replaced, which is located in the section where the paint is missing

  • @ghettoperson257 probably body panel was changed due to technical reasons...

  • test

  • damn it stopped in like 100 feet

  • thumps up if u wanna be a pilot

  • i've actually been on an airbus where upon landing, the pilot didn't seem to have needed the use of the reverse thrusters, unless he was able to control the engines well and it wasn't noticeable at all.

  • I know exactly what happened.

The woman flying had to sort her hair and make up so was coming in to fast. By luck the woman is unlike all other woman and was able to stop before she caused an accident or any damage

  • Abrake test performed by airbus.

  • @seasheperd101 No thrust reverse in this landing, Nothing but wheel brakes. Simulation of a four engine failure an loss of hydraulics. Not that you would make it to the runway with no engines or hydraulics but if you do the wheel brakes will stop you.

  • I wanna hv sex with the plane.

  • wow. qwick stop

  • it farted

  • aren't they meant to have anti brake lock?

  • Getafe?

  • This is very heavy braking, and even without reverse thrust

  • believe it or not, this is how strong are a planes brakes

  • Never land with Parking Brakes!

    "Landung einer A340 mit Parkbremsen"

Landing a A340 with Parking Brakes,

  • 60 people work for Boeing.

  • Based on the paint scheme and lack of reverse thrust. I'm pretty sure this was a landing testing out the brakes.

  • i guess they tested landing without reversed thrust and flaps

  • @erenxbjk It looks like there are flaps, not fully extended though.

  • Wow, that is some heavy braking.. the nose almost instantly came down

  • parking brakes? you can't land the a340 perfectly

  • Only tire brake? Without engine reverse ??? OMG...

  • did the tyres burst?

  • @moshrunnersXtra no.. maybe some locked sometimes

  • lovely Toulouse, that's where i live :)

  • smokey

  • And this is why you wear a seatbelt when the light goes on.

  • @UssenterprizeDv2 actually the seatbelts works better on turbulences..

  • to all who say these pilots are crazy, or this was a stupid thing to do: this was a test flight. This test was a test on the brakes, this hard braking test is something every aircraft must pass before passengers like you or I are allowed on it, and even before they are even released for airlines to purchase

  • @natbrain aren't many frames sold before the first aircraft is even built?

  • @aelsesser what do you mean?

  • @aelsesser yes, but they are only delivered after all the testing is done.

  • @natbrain I agree !!!!!!

  • certification breaks, every airplane has to pass this.

  • jizz

  • This is test flight. No reverse thrust landing? Maybe?

  • @enes3333

probably yes... At least the painting is an Airbus House one... Maybe a wheels and spoilers barke test

  • did the plane use reverse thrust?

  • @elephant35e nope, they're testing brake, in case they have engine failure thus they can't use reverse ;)

  • Landing checklist

    1.Flaps full. Check

    2.Spoilers armed. Check

    3.Landing lights. On

4.Parking brake. On. Captain : "WHAT!??!?! PARKING BRAKE ON???" "HOLY CRAP"

    3.

  • Test flight. Non-airline livery. Duurrrrr...

  • I´ll never fly

  • @bongotromme

They do these tests to make our flights safer : )

  • parking brake: '' on ''

  • what is going on the plane's wheele?

  • im proud with this aircraft using GE engines

  • @desilatetwo

These are Rolls Royce Trent 500. There are no GE engines for A340-600.

  • look at the tyres, it looked like a 'retard airplane'

  • It had not reverses!

  • And thats seemed to be without engine reverse, insanely fast it stopped.

  • I am a Airbus A340 pilot.Regarding the flight ability of this aircraft,i m always asked and very often asked by some kids and my friends who does'nt flewed this jet ever because this aircraft is quiet heavy and like very low responce to control in,so that's not the case at all !inspite of it's weight,of it's mass, and of it's size THIS AIRCRAFT IS EXTREMELY TO RESPONSIVE TO CONTROL INPUTS WHEN YOU FLY manualy and you can fly it with fast responce, fast movements at the same time it's very stable:)

  • @devrajvarma thanx for the info

  • @Guru0777

    yeas indeed :)

  • @devrajvarma

    study your english grammar

  • @MrBowie08 Would you rather have him explain this to you in French, German or any other language than english???

If this is interesting to you then you should be thankfull he did what he could.

You just another lucky idiot to whom natural selection didn't get to, but it should.

I bet your IQ is a negative number.

  • @seboxman

    HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • @seboxman

what I said was that he had to study his English grammar. So either you are a idiot who can't draw conclusions or you don't know what I was talking about.

anyway, telling somebody to study his grammar does not mean that I want him to do it in Russian or German or any other digface language.

I bet you are a bloody ugly gay facker with NO brains

  • @MrBowie08 I second ! Btw, @devrajvarma , "SIR", i would like to know which airlines are you flying the Airbus 340 for, and which one ? i mean is it the 600 or the 300 or whichever ? I believe you are from india, and NONE of the airlines in india are operating the 340 apart from JET airways which retired its 340 fleet long back. Kindly shed some light.

  • @devrajvarma lol my uncle uncle flies the thai airways a340-600 from bangkok to sydney and he says the same thing. its like an a330-300 in its flight chararistics

  • @freofan4

ohh yes i know i was right :))

Infact, none people knows better than the real pilots (:

  • Within 1000m from TDZ, crazy #

  • was it a brake test or pilot's error?

  • hah A340.net no longer exists.

  • Wow.... !!!

  • ABS works.

  • Those brakes must be on fire!

  • verrrry hard brake

  • creo que este airbus 340 es unn peligro en el aire

  • @TheLuar56 creio que tu es um perigo quando te metes a inventar e a dizer mentiras

  • @ guipinsan i dont understan u dude speak sapnish or english

  • @TheLuar56 i think it might be portugese...

  • Not Portuguese for sure. Do you see any Portyguese flag on it?

  • @Aniki1609 i wasnt talking about the plane dimwit i was talking about a language someone was speaking in a reply.

  • @jgdogg441 oh,sorry then ass hole

  • @Aniki1609 you went back 8 months worth of comments...just to call me an ass hole for telling you i was talking about a language and not a livery? Wow thats pretty bad.

  • @jgdogg441 I called you an ass hole in response to your insult. Actually i am convinced that you really are an ass hole.

  • @Aniki1609 Well I hate to disappoint you...but I'm not. In fact at this point YOU blatantly called ME an asshole. If anything that just makes you look bad. Enjoy your day and leave me alone or I will taunt you a second time.

  • Do you see any Portuguese flag on it?

  • test flight

  • The last seconds it stopped fast

  • is a short runway

  • it is just landing

    nothing else

  • that was totaly normal i fly so i fuckin know

  • @MegaGamerTech Woah someones a little edgy. Calm down!

  • @TheCav94 lol sorry

  • @MegaGamerTech i know ya i mean its normal its steam get over it

  • @randomfreak09

777-300er is more expensive than a340-600 right? :)

  • The A340 undercarriage is made in my back yard,at Messier Dowty,s Factory at Staverton Gloucestershire UK. Regarding the carbon brake packs, they are made by Dunlop ,who pioneered mulitdisc wheel brakes for aircraft in the late 1940,s,and Maxaret anti skid system. Each 4-wheel bogie is the size of a Transit Van , the oleo leg is as tall as a telephone pole, and each Michellin Tyre is the same size as the rear tyre of a JCB Digger Back Hoe.

    from oldbilerdog

  • @oldboilerdog ...ok thats nice to know even tho most dont care :P and wow you must have a big backyard

  • Well thats not bad for carbon disc brake packs, who made them BF Goodrich,or Dunlop, although the antiskid system was working overtime.

    from oldboilerdog.

  • @oldboilerdog Carbon brakes are better than steel anyday! Could be made by Buggati messier

  • @randomfreak09 true true, maybe they stole it?

  • It isn't something important...They had flat tyre...

  • Sweet Brakes!

They need to install it on some trucks....

  • new tyres please

  • Excelent.

  • thats alot of brakin!

  • ABS XD

  • @supershomp LOL exactely what i was thinkin of =P

  • Bloody weird landing gear on this aircraft. 8 Wheels slant backwards, 4 slant forwards like the B767. Stupid idea. Smoother landing with the wheels slanted backwards.

  • @thurrucane all of the world's landing gear engineers were waiting for you to tell them how to slant their landing gears.

  • @Santaclausemikey

haha, I'm not an engineer, but I believe the reason for the different slants is relative to retracting all those wheels into the undercarriage (May not fit with all wheels slanted upwards). I guess more wheels overrule a smoother landing.

  • maybe parking brake

  • Didn't see the reverse thrust activate so i guess this is a test also the Airbus livery is on

  • was this a max landing weight test ?

  • a 340 the best aircraft

  • well done

  • I don't care who makes the plane, as long as I get from Point A to Point B then probably Point C. I have the same theory about my car. Who cares what it is as long as you get to you destination safely... would be nice if it was speedy.

  • @novembercherry4 exactly!

  • Fanboys all over the internet for all different things, now we have plane fanboys? Give me strength.

  • @couzindan lol i didnt even knowplane fanboys existed until i saaw all these Airbus and Boeing wars

  • In this case I think that one of the purposes of the test was to land and come to a full stop not using reverse thrust.

  • @jmr604 I agree with you, it looks like a flight test because of the Airbus livery and because it was an extreme landing situation: in this case I think that one of the purposes of the test was to land and come to a full stop not using reverse thrust.

  • @VisualApp bull

  • I like Boeing planes.

  • scare bus

  • boeing 747 great plane airbus a380 amazinging plane antonov 225 great plane look all plane companys make extremly amazing and succesful planes just get over it you freekes ooo and by the way i proberly was a test flight

  • Airbus would be a lot cooler if they had not that stupid sidesticks! BOEING ROCKS!

  • why are all of you arguing whose better? clearly americans (like me) will say boeings better. Europeans will always say Airbus and their companies are better. its kind of pointless seeing as how both airlines have had major crashes. why argue, you people arent gona probably change anyones opinion on either company.

  • Airbus isn't just French. It is a subsidiary of E.A.D.S (The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company ). EADS is a merge of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace of Germany, Aérospatiale-Matra of France, and Construcciones Aeronáuticas of Spain. They develop and market civil and military aircraft, missiles, space rockets, communications systems, satellites, and so on.

  • Well, I don't get the Boeing vs. Airbus flame... They're both proven and good planes. Personally, I was AMAZED by flying A340 (Virgin Airlines) and disgusted by B747 (BA), other planes seem to me more or less average. The B747 shocked me, namely the quality of details - i.e. I was worried all the flight that the ring around the window will fall into my lap. And you could slide a man's hand into the gap around it. It all seemed really rubish. I don't know it this partic.plane was so worn out...

  • What do you have to say to defend your A350? Not a damn thing. Also, what is the best selling airliner ever? The 737? a BOEING product.

  • @DerPilotMann just because it's build for 40 years now...

there are currently many more a320 sold than 737

  • Boeing is better, I think the 747-8 and the 787 will prove that again.

  • @DerPilotMann lol

  • @DerPilotMann yeah the good 787...they bought screws from the supermarket for the first roll out...youa re right..THIS is a good prove that boeing is sooo much better than airbus..

  • Whats the problem...it stopped did't it?

  • Competition means constant improvement. It's the same with any company. I'm glad neither one stands alone.

  • airbus..boeing... i don't really care which one is better.

What I do think though is that both of these companies are very good, whether one is bettter than the other or not. heaps of airlines use airbuses and boeings today, and both these companies have turned out to be quite successful in the end.

the a340 is a great plane

  • When an airbus puts on its brakes it is actually referred to as a Brake-A-Buss.

  • 0:48

Did the right landing gear tires lock up? xD

  • test because only test planes have the actual name on the side if not it would have the airline like Delts or Southwest

  • i think its a brake test they landed without reverse thrust but only with the brakes and spoilers

  • @MRmatthieu49 they did used spoilers but not sure about reverse thrust

  • @MRmatthieu49

they landed only with spoilers and the parking break already activated in midair

  • @MRmatthieu49 Well of course its a test because the livery is in airbus classic colors

  • @MRmatthieu49 flaps?

  • @Cathaydude yea flaps too

  • @Cathaydude Flaps 40 and spoiler (aerodynamics brakes)

  • @depeche88

    WRONG,Not just that.

  • they land without the reverse thrust

  • This is my favourite plane!

  • i love this plane!

  • im sorry but airbus is the best in terms of design

  • @juanberkeley2012 shame a340 isnt - that why if you fly long haul chances are, it will be a 777 not a A340.
