@1110100110 I think you're not quite interpreting it correctly?... it's that she wants to be her own person and not be controlled.. she is not property. you can brag all you want to, treat her as a precious flower, but as soon as you pull that flower from the ground and put in a vase to show off as "yours" .... the flower dies.
@MikeMsDaughter11 On another Rasputina song, that same person said: "they suck all they can do is play instruments" Isn't that a pretty important part of music? Having the ability and talent to make music?
@MikeMsDaughter11 unless you have a mac with "garage band" and an affinity for auto-tune. How can the same person bitch that all this band does is play instruments on one video, and then come onto this one, where they are obviously singing like fallen angels, and say that they suck. It makes no sense
@danielhayes5446 They can sing, they purposely add a haunting style to how they do so. I feel it adds even more depth to the music. I agree, some people cannot fathom great music that is made without utilizing electronic devices and then editing them in programs on their beloved macs.
@shooglechic The thing I love most about youtube is that you can find so many different artists, not just by recommendations from youtube, but also from the comments. I was listening to Apocalptica and that lead me to Rasputina, a friend recommended Jill Tracy iyd1XUNQUNQ and that lead me to
Stolen Babies YpxesBrb8Ag and Diablo Swing Orchestra Vug69ZDqcKo both of which are heavier but still melodic and use a wide array of instruments: violins, cellos, accordians and what not.
@danielhayes5446 Oh my goodness do I love Stolen Babies! I saw them open for Within Tempation in Columbia, SC a few years back. I haven't heard about them in so long. Thank you for bringing that up. I agree with you. Youtube helps a lot of bands. Pandora is an even bigger help as well.
@shooglechic , Completely true about Pandora, did you check out Diablo Swing Orchestra? So very very awesome. It's like Claypool and Mr. Bungle won a fiddle playing contest with the devil, and instead of a golden violin, got his orchestra instead. Any band suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
@danielhayes5446 I about died when I heard Diablo Swing. That is a wonderful recommendation. The only recommendations I can find for you are Squirrel Nut Zippers, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, and Gogol Bordello. All with completely different sounds and genres, but you can still hear the traditional instruments and wonderful lyrics.
@shooglechic I think I've heard a couple songs from Squirrel Nut Zippers a while ago, and Gogol Bordello is awesome. I'll check out Reverend Peyton's too. Appreciate it.
@shooglechic Have you listened to the John Butler Trio? Really good stuff, an Aussie that plays a 12 string acoustic with a celloist and the drummer has a really unique style. Zebra, Funky Tonight, Used to get high, he has a lot of cool stuff.
@chrispruett81 yes, what MikeMsDaughter said, if you're as good as you claim then feel free to make a song and upload it . . . and I'm sure all the trolls will come crawling from under their bridges to claim that you're not as good as (insert your favorite artist here)
Thanks so much for posting this. I've been searching for this forever. Used to have the disc, outside of this and Rose Kennedy, didn't think it was worth keeping. Many thanks
While I am not disputing the beauty of the music Rasputina delivers... I disagree with song... It's not that a woman is a toy,
or a piece of meat,
but a precious life
that I'd much like to covet for myself.
Call me a rat bastard for wanting to
gloat about my woman because I think she's amazing in every way.
But I'll never tell her what to do, say, think.... But your wrong if you think you will not be impressioned by everyone around you in every day. :D

@danielhayes5446 LOL This dick must have some sort of brain damage. You gotta have instruments to be able to make music, in most cases!
