  • Screw "Astronimer"! Why don't we call them "Comet Ferrets"?

  • So...she works on galaxies far, far away?

  • god did that

  • the i sack Newton telescope

  • I came here from 'Derpy Loves Her Lava Lamp (with sound)' and I thought the video title was Derp Sky Videos.

  • i got here from skyrim.......great videos tho bravo

  • Great job!! Looking forward to watching videos on all the Messier objects. Getting started in Astronomy as a hobby and these already are a fantastic intro. thank you!

  • theys people are nerds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Got here from Rainbow Trololol

  • Awsome.I subcribed.I love astromany.I like sudying the stars.I wish I could see one from a spaceship.Don`t you?

  • THis isn't Annoying Orange.

  • How did i got from DBZ to this?

  • @BlueAlphaGamer How did i get from the Marines to this? O_O

  • This is an excellent idea. Very well taped and interesting to watch. Well done and looking forward to the full set of 110 Messier objects! Aloha!

  • Imagine if WE ALL kept a Messier Catalog ..... I bet we would know a lot more about space. Maybe that's what our Culture should be, like the ones before us. Instead of our culture being, working till your almost dead and get as drunk as you can on weekends and holidays. All while missing whats going on above us. The most important things to me, go UN NO TI CED. It's b.s. I don't think we were meant to live the way society demands us to live today. We should be more ONE with the heavens n Earth

  • @Scarecrowman27 I know exactly what you mean. This woman I work with thought Jupiter was the biggest object in the Galaxy (bigger than sun and other exrta-solar objects) and then couldn't understand how it ends up on opposite side of Earth so you can't see it all the time.

It was just total ignorance which made me very sad. The sky calls to us, and as long as we don't destroy ourselves, we will venture to the stars.

  • whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Mayans were better star trackers then Messier. They did it generations before him and with limited capabilities. I.e: building stone temples to track the starts and earths changing axis over thousands of years.

  • could perhaps replace 'coincidentally' with 'serendipitously'... or am i just being pedantic!!!?

  • i i know this had nothing to do with this video but it made me think why didnt we ever go back to the moon?

  • messier room than yours....

  • @joblessalex two snare drums and a high-hat fell out of a window... ba-boom-tish!!!

  • RON PAUL 2012!

  • I clicked because it said deep...i should really go outside more

  • we know more about space then our own fucking oceans...... wow............. i think there's something wrong here.......

  • @osamayomoma Considering how big space is. Proportionally we know so much more about the oceans. There's also a lot of repetition in space. Plus studying the ocean floor is like going into space while studying space requires only a telescope. So it's much easier. Really there's not. Go eat some more granola bars.

  • @osamayomoma no, we actually know much much more about the ocean then we know about space, we still discover new things in the ocean but if we were given a telescope that could see twice as far as current tec allows we would discover millions of things,we only know time/space/distance as it is on our planet but that could all be different in another part of the universe, its so vast that we have no way to say what we could find :)

  • @jdefabs2112 That gives me the chills. "That could all be different in another part of the universe" Well said. Just thinking light years away they are living in the 5th dimension haha. It's GREAT!!! I like to watch a video called "The most important image ever taken" It's one of my favorite videos, it shows the 2 pictures caught by the hubble viewing into deep space showing thousands of galaxy's. You have to check it out. That's enough commenting for me lol Sorry folks. Excuse my spellin errors

  • @Scarecrowman27 i know, space totally trips me out, if you ever want to make yourself nuts read *death from the skys by, phil plaite* (not sure if thats spelled right and i think he has Dr. as a title not sure, but the books all about the millions of things that could hit our planet, its just crazy to think how small we really are, kinda makes you humble a bit looking out at the stars :)

  • PUSSY

  • your like the outer space Nigel Thornberry. AKA Sir you are a boss

  • vid has my last name in the title :P nice vid

  • people were so bored back in the days.. what else could they do besides looking into the skies with their bare eyes.. i tried that shit.. i actually saw a comet.. i actually did...literally.

but i bet if Charles Messier was alive now.. he will be Liking statuses on facebook. i mean, face it.. you can't scape from facebook.

  • How did i get from Ron Paul debates to this video?

  • Why is there a bunch of ass shaking vid's in the recommended video box?

  • @jasonscottable I know,whats up w that????lol

  • aaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddd how was this related to R33MIX's video?

  • I got here from listening to skrillex..wth??

  • too boring

  • THEY TALK ALOT MEAN

  • THAT IS SO COOL

  • More pictures, less talking.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm here to watch your 110+ videos, as you post them of course. ;)

  • suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuubscribed

  • I know this is off topic, but the sky is soo pretty up there xD

  • WHY ARE ALL THESE VIDEOS MISSING RECENTLY!!! GD GOVT!!!!!!!! LEAVE U TUBE ALONE!!!!!!

  • Meghan is mesmerizing!

  • it's murray from flight of the conchords!

  • i was watching mexican videos 27 seconds ago...

  • ok we get we have rocks in space move on and look for aliens! :)

  • Nice. Not messy at all.

  • OK, let's be honest with this one: Have you seen M33 without optical aid...????

    Again, BE HONEST!!!

  • My favorite car is a Nova.....

  • boring

  • i love getting high and watching videos like this lol

  • the truth isnt in space.. the truth isnt on another planet. the truth is in pplain site HIDDEN here with LIES and GOV top secret legislation. You wanna know the truth? So far the Sheeple of america seems not to beable to

  • First 5 seconds....press subscribe button.

  • When I look up in to space I see God . "Never ending" alway's There. looking at the stars. I see The living god's energy of life."never ending " alway's there. Creating to create all motion never ending alway's there. I can keep going. I do not see God man or woman but as all the earth stars space motion create creating "never ending" alway's think you God for being Avery where I love you

  • @allorganicplanting Clearly looking up at the sky staring at god so much has left you with little time to learn basic spelling and grammar. Why are people speaking on God's behalf always so illiterate? You'd think God would intervene and make sure only educated people spoke on his behalf... LOLZ

  • you made a channel just for me!

  • my comment wants to reach for the sky ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็ ส็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็็

  • @d2h4l How'd you do that?

  • I wonder how astronomers in the past recognize which object has or hasn't been in the catalog?

  • Looking foward to the 110 videos

  • meghan gray ftw

  • I will have so much viewing to do!!

  • @culwin indeed

  • @culwin A nice hobby to last you a lifetime.

  • I have subscribed to your channel! You have a duty 😄(*^_^*)

  • Looking forward to these videos

  • Deep space is a lie.

  • @WesternShinigami Troll fail.

  • Wait... Brady has more than two channels?!?

  • @Chiodostwo I have about a dozen!

  • PLEASE DO 110 Messierr objects please <3

  • @EmpereurNapoleonex we will certainly try!

  • i love sixty symbols and really appreciate you putting all of these videos online for us thx!

  • I look forward to the Messier Object videos.

  • Messi and Messier. There will be Messiest.

  • its cool and all, but... WILL IT BLEND?

  • Looking forward to these upcoming videos.

  • Isn't M31 the default wallpaper on OS X lion?

  • please excuse me while I sub your channel....

  • @qotsaandsoadfan1 you are excused... and thank you!

do spread the word if you like the videos.

  • Fabulous stuff - keep up the good work. I'll be watching each one of these as they're released and pimping it to my chums online.

  • @sanebutoverwhelmed thank you... we hope people will watch them and doesn't happen without a bit of "pimping"

  • Do you think some day people will talk about the work you're doing here the way they talk about the Messier catalogue? That instead of looking up information on M15 or M41 they'll look up Brady's video on the object? It might be worth adding links to articles for further reading in the video descriptions, like the individual wikipedia articles on the objects and such :D.

  • Really looking foward to these!

  • I am in love with Meghan Gray.

  • stay in school and you can get a cool job like these people

  • ..as long as we don't get 110 videos like the newscientist vids of 2011, where it's just silent random footage for 45 seconds like some fever dream.

  • Just a small suggestion, Brady, if I may: I think it'd be great to USE the objects to learn more about astronomy in general instead of just focusing too much time in the objects themselves. So if, for instance, you are talking about a supernova remnants, use that video to also answer questions such as: what are the stars made of? what kind of stars are there? what makes some of them explode?, etc.). If possible, the main question of the video could be reflected in the title for future reference.

  • @cristianfcao

Why don't you start your own channel and do it yourself. Have you seen how many channels Brady is working on?

  • @ScienceIsKnowledge I'm planing to do something along those lines eventually, but I don't have Brady's talent as a filmmaker/producer, nor any resources, nor the knowledge of these guys here. I'm just trying to give some feedback as a user and as a science enthusiast in order to make the series better. If my suggestions sound somehow unappreciative for Brady's work, maybe it's the lack of space or my poor English that gives you that impression but that's not the intent AT ALL

  • @cristianfcao it would be impossible to cover all the objects without doing what you suggest (unless you wanted to make a very boring series)

  • @DeepSkyVideos Yes, people will learn astronomy throughout the series and, many questions will be answered on each video in order to understand each object. The problem is how not to repeat things and learn something new with each video. Here I think it's important to note that, unlike the ph. symbols or the ch. elements, there's not THAT much to say about some M objects, especially after you've covered many of the same kind (clusters in particular for which the Cat. has MANY!).

  • @cristianfcao we were worried about that... yet every time we start filming a new object, we seem to find some story or interesting fact about it... let's wait and see...

PS: Not EVERY video we do will be about Messier objects... we have other surprises up our sleeves!

  • 110 videos? - could get messy. Of course, 111 would be even messier. (sorry)

  • Great job. I look forward to more videos.

  • random but how big would a telescope have to be to get a satellite-like image of the surface of one of the new exoplanets

  • @0hfuzzyu Bigger than we have now. Some of the biggest nearest stars it is JUST possible to get a picture of something more than a dot with the biggest telescopes working in tandem. We can't even get anything better than fuzzy pictures of pluto, and thats in our back yard cosmically speaking. Exoplanets will probably need interstellar probes to get anything more than a dot.

  • 4:01 the minute that picture showed up I heard an explosion come from my computer, at first I thought it was part of the video at first and was very confused as to WHY this sound effect came about... Then I heard someone talking about cleaning supplies.

Look ads, it doesn't matter how much noise you make, it won't make me care anymore.

  • ...orward to the series - good luck. And damn you Apple iPad keyboard that I can't take that typo back!

  • Immensely looking f

  • looking forward to this, i really enjoy you videos.

  • Now I know what the cool astronomers talk about in the cafeteria :P

  • Can't wait! Great idea for a series.

  • So that's why Andromeda is called M31.. Thank you, Brady!

  • I love sixty symbols, and this channel is already exciting me! Can't wait for M1! Hopefully we get to see a tour through the Isaac Newton Telescope later on.

  • @Chiodostwo you will indeed... I filmed tours of eight telescopes at La Palma and they'll all be posted here

  • @DeepSkyVideos Great news, to see inside would be fantastic!

  • This will be so exciting! How do you even get to find a job that you love doing?? I hope I'm this lucky when I'm older...

  • ...Yaaaaaaay.. sixty symbols spin off about spaaaaaace.......Yaaaaaay... life just got a little bit sweeter..

  • Messy objects - Messier objects - Messiest objects - my room.

  • I envy you.

  • "i work on galaxies"

wow.. i wish i could say that.

  • Thank you so much for doing this!

  • holy 220 likes 0 dislikes that means this video is awesome (even if it had a dislike i would still thing this is epic)

  • I can't wait to see and understand these objects better. thx Brady

  • @fcadet should be cool!

  • How exciting! I love Messier's objects. With my home made dobsonian telescope I've seen about 30 so far.

  • This is going to be awesome =D Brady you manage to suprise me every time with great content. Thank you for that =D

  • I'll watch all 110 videos and share them with my friends!

  • @Lukejcarter great... that's all we can ask!

  • Pause at 0:58 guys:D

  • Who thinks that the observatory at the beginning looks like Wheatley opening his eye?

  • KurtJMac anyone? :3

  • Is it normal for you guys to pronounce "Isaac" that way?

  • This sounds like a great idea! Looking forward to watching the series (:

  • @xnax1993 we're looking forward to making them.

  • This is going to be great!

  • sounds awesome! I can't wait to see the first M video : )

  • @unluckylion it'll be up on Thursday... it is M1 and quite a good one

  • @DeepSkyVideos cool, thank you for the information = )

  • Messier objects, because when you look with small telescopes they are messier objects than the planets or stars :P

  • I heard there is more detectable energy in a pin dropping and hitting the floor than there is in the background radiation left from the big bang. is that true ?

  • You didn't mention Messier Marathons. I hope it gets mentioned in a later video.

  • @teavea10 this whole series is a Messier Marathon! :)

  • Really looking forward to this awesome series.

  • Well you've made plenty of videos on the elements of the periodic table; no reason not to do this, eh?

  • Looking forward to a 110 videos!

    Greetings from Denmark

  • Anyone else doing Stargazing Live tonight? Grab your telescopes!

  • Perhaps do more than one object per video...

  • @HWGuyEG that would be cheating!

  • @DeepSkyVideos

Well good luck with making a video on all the interesting things in space.... only billions of things within sight. :)

  • Are you doing any videos of the NGCs?

  • This is the best Video ive seen this month.

  • reach for the sky brady

  • Superb. Thanks Brady!

  • w00t finally!

  • Aw - just the Messier objects? Can you not work through the New General Catalogue?

But seriously, I'm looking forward to this - I shall soon be upgrading my telescope to one which can record good images of deep sky objects, but I love to see astronomers at work in proper big observatories.

  • i love galaxy and stars but i feel like an ignorant now :(

  • Like the way Mike Merrifield speaks.. His expression is awesone :D

  • Well, once you finish the Messier objects, there are plenty of other catalogues to work through... :-)

  • Do you have to do them in order? I don't want to wait 101 videos for M101/Pinwheel Galaxy. Definitely one of the most beautiful objects in space.

  • even though i'm a chemist i still love these videos.

  • I envy your life

  • 110 videos, incredible! Can't wait, & will most certainly be watching every single one. Keep up the good work Brady :)

  • All 110? Yay!

  • Hey Brady I have been subscribed to your various channels for several months now and really enjoy them; they have immense educational value. I was wondering if you required any music (say, for example with deepskyvideos - if you were doing videos/shots of space). I have an extensive amount of original and ambient music professionally mixed and mastered which would fit such a bill. Let me know if you are interested.
