@lardycake70 hey man, what mods did u do to convert the bikes to motard? Is it just motard tires straight onto the MX rims? And did u gear more towards top speed or acceleration from the MX gearing? Thanx

@BIR420DY all three bikes have had the mx rims taken off and 17" Excel rims with Talon hubs put in their place. The two CRF's have had the suspension modified and gearing has been lowered for more top end other wise they are a pain in the ass to ride on the road. Front brake caliper, master cylinder and disc also changed for beefier ones. Hope this helps. Cheers

you guys using the crf 450x or regular crf 450, same for the ktm exc or sx...i really want to do this but heard that you need to do it the enduro bikes not mx bikes

@ToadWonglers Hi mate. The two CRF's are both just MX bikes re-geared for the road, no lighting kits etc. The KTM was, I think, an EXC but to be honest it makes no difference whether they are MX or enduro........they all wheelie!! :) Have fun.

@jar288 Hi mate. Yeah they are street legal. In the UK you just need to register the bike for the road, put a licence plate on and pay your road tax. You don't have put lights on, but then it can only be used in the daytime. Thanks :)

@schnuper450 ..... just remember to check the valve clearances and get them re-shimmed.....you'll know when you need to cos it'll be an absolute fucker to start. only a 20 min job though. good luck.

how often do you have to maintain (change the oil and other fluids) on the crf450r? for riding like this?

@schnuper450 ...... on the CRF you're supposed to change the oil regularly, but to be honest I used to wait until the gear change got a bit notchy and change it then ;) Never any problems.

@LSBProductions1 no mate. about a litre and a half of oil, can't remember the exact amounts for engine and gearbox. Cheap running. And if you can't do valve clearances yourself a mechanic can do it fairly quickly and cheaply.
