congrats to Xiang. But Oliver just messed up plain and simple. better for him to make mistakes now when it doesn't matter than for him to make this sort of mistakes at the major championships.
@xcrunner000 Oliver was intimidate and got nervous and couldn't recover. This race show us where Oliver head is at, because the first real challenge in his two year reign and he did the Asafa flop. Oliver just got to run his race only, Liu and Robles are both fluid and techninal hurdlers and Oliver will have his hands full when both are healthy. This looks like a real competitve hurdle event in this year's World Championships, but I think he should be ready next race.
@yardieindubai I don't think so, that's a far stretch, because liu glides over his hurdles and robles is quick between the hurdles. Let's see if you're correct!
@kingofsprints I think he was almost caught off guard by Xiang's start haha. Will be looking forward to the WC's & Olympics in the 110m hurdles for sure.
@xcrunner000 Watch how Oliver turn his right shoulder, because he know's from the outset he was being beaten. Track athletes always does that, they thinks if they lean on the side towards their threat, it will prevent the other guy from winning. I know because I've done it many occassions in my sprinting days. lol
Okay we can all agree david oliver fucked up the start and he was not hurdling after he saw liu xiang in front, this is just the beginning. I'm a huge Liu Xiang fan though, he deserves the WR.
@jc2fly Yeah but you can't deny that oliver's start screwed up his whole race. If you have ever hurdled before you'd understand how important the start is. It isn't like the 100m dash where you can stay in the race, im actually surprised oliver was able to stay in the race! lol Xiang and Oliver both have great stories behind them but I can't help but root for xiang after his injury in the beijing olympics.
liu xiang graduated with computer science and math degree.
