wow that box is huge for 2 12's on 1.5 k, interesting that you've made a side port. usually in a boot build cars get louder loading the port and drivers off either the tailgate or the rear windscreen. ive tried both now and loading off the boot seems louder and and has been proven on some cars on the termlab. seen alot of people in america load their ports at the side, some tidy woodwork there bracing is a key to a strong box

your subwoofers look out of phase. is it one big box or is it split in the center? a ported box tuned around 32hz would make that thing rattle your car alot more and would be alot louder

@dieseldog20 they are not out of phase, its the cameras fps warp diameter. The box is in fact ported to 30hz and is one single chamber.

@barevids at 4:03 you can tell they are out of phase.Either its out of phase or the box has a center divide in it that making 1 subs air space inconsistant to the other. Im guessing you have a side port(cant see in vid), if you was to do a long style "L" port with subs up port up with that tuning youd see a much bigger improvement with less power. not downing your set up ust giving you contructive critisism. It is however a nice clean build! Good job on that.

@dieseldog20 i can assure you they are NOT out of phase please feel free to personally come and see a 2hz wave on them. it is an effect the camera creates as in many other suwboofer videos. the box does not have any divides as can be seen in my previous video. the port is indeed a side port as can also be seen in previous video. I find this to be as good if not better than previous L port style boxes i have built in the past for similar setups. Thanks, im waiting to get it sanded and covered.

@barevids I'd have to agree that they are out of phase with the others, heres the issue with a side port in which your using a longer styled L-Port design. The woofers build their backpressure by having equal airspace with equal distance from the opening in the port. Your woofer which is located closer to the port opening inside of this enclosure is unloading quicker than the opposite. To increase efficiency you could bottom port out towards the hatch, or upfire through the center.

@lilwildmike The enclosure you built isn't horrible, just isn't ideal for the woofers if your trying to gain maximum potential, as in the way its being used now, the cone control is sacrificed as well as efficiency of your enclosure and woofers, which will lead to that woofer reacting as if it is somewhat free-airing.

@barevids different angles same effects been installing these babies for 3 years build custom fibreglass boxes etc its not a hard fix make the box's port symmetrical to each other make sure its exactly same if you want to fix this. Ive built boxes designed to hit the bass and prolong the sound via 2 subs enclosed/ported...which basically makes a thousand dollar set up sound like a hundred. just my 2 cents bud.

@dieseldog20 its called rolling shutter its when a camera cant pick up the movement correct so if he plays a 25hz tone and orients the camera so one sub is at the top of the frame it will look out of phase when its not

@RWL2011 well the stock alternator can give 80A which is over 1000W alone, couple that with the battery's amperage capabilities id say the standard electrical system gives me well over 1000W headroom. Yes i probably should do the big 3 upgrade and i am getting a 2nd battery in the boot, thats all to come :)

@MOreReptile yeah, i usually have the shelf in but for this video i took it out. It makes a massive difference to the bass with it out! i might buy an identical shelf and cut some holes in it, get some port-looking tubes, just to let some of the pressure through the shelf and into the car.
