  • I'm a vegan I eat ducks that eat corn. Ps I shot those ducks

  • I am a proud vegetarian. I eat no meat, no poultry and no fish. Stop killing to eat.

  • We pointed to the glaring ERRORS in a 2006 United Nations report that claimed 18 percent of global greenhouse gases are related to animal agriculture. In 2008, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency calculated that the entire agriculture sector accounted for only 6 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, while sources directly related to livestock production represented barely 2.5 percent of the total.

  • There was a time article that contradicted this video. That said grass feed cows could reduce global warming. And let me guess what peta's solution would be stop eating meat and the neuter and spay the farm animals.

  • see that would actually be true if farmers actually let cows eat grass but they don't

  • Global warming is almost a religion now, and people turn their heads to anything otherwise. It's really a shame more than anything. But of course, you don't have to hear what you don't want to.

  • God i wont even bother..

Good luck converting 6 billion people.

    This is like communism:

Sure everything looks nice on paper, great idea.

    Will it ever happen?

    Nope.

So you guys have fun depriving yourself for well, a cause that's important for you.

But in the long run.. it won't change anything.

Don't bother responding, im done here.

  • I am going to respond, not for you but for others who may be reading these comments.

Veg*nism isn't about depriving yourself of good food - there are veg*n alternatives for everything these days, plus veg*nism is a healthier diet for your body as well as the planet.

  • so what do we do with hay.

  • the horses eat it

  • Dumb fuck xD

Global warming has no cause! few years ago (somewhere in the 60's) the earth was turning colder for few years and everybody thought there was gonna be a new Ice Age. Now it is the exact same thing only backwards. We think we have a great influence to the earth and the universe but we influence nothing. The earth will do whatever it wants, with or without us!

  • of course meant is not green, if it was it would be spoiled u dumb fucks

  • honestly, i find the whole vegetarian thing pretty hm... extreme.

i believe in the movement to stop animal cruelty / raise to kill.

    but there's a limit.

humans are omnivores: they eat both plants and animals for a food source.

we have been eating meat for millions of years.

second, a food chain is required in an ecosystem. thats just how nature works.

    Vegetarianism vs. Nature

hmm.. no offense, but i think the inevitable wins over a movement of people.

  • Just because humans have eaten meat in the past it doesn't mean we need to continue to do so while there are other options available.

If humans stop eating meat it does effect the ecosystem but in a positive way, at the moment there's no balance to our food chain because of the excessive amount of meat eaten.

  • so what you're proposing

    is that:

    1. we go against nature and stop eating what we were conceived to eat?

thats like going up to a bear, also an omnivore, and just completely make him stop fishing cause its not "nice".

    2. we just completely stop eating meat? temporarily, thas jus ridiculous. permanent, thers eventually gunna be way too much higher-chain predators, so not enough of their food, making them go extinct, and the others as well?

    some genious you are.

  • 1. Our bodies are more suited to eating vegetables than they are to eating meat.

A bear has no choice but to eat meat whereas humans DO have a choice.

    2. I don't quite understand your second point, are you saying humans eat higher-chain predators?

If you're saying that by not eating meat there will be too many cows/pigs etc. then you need to look up 'supply & demand'.

  • WOW you are retarded you know that?

even if we dident eat animals, what happens to the animal population? goes up and eating meat is fine but if you try to change our way of living? then you are a jackass

  • Animals are bred for human consumption. If people stop eating animals then they will stop being over-bred. Please look up 'supply and demand'.

  • you are going against nature in most of the things that you do, 'nature' is not the issue here. Factory farming is not natural, if hunting/ gathering is 'natural' then you would eat about 80% vegan, more if you are a woman as women do not hunt in hunter gatherer societies.

Higher chain predators would not reproduce if food was scarce - nature does regulate you know. Extinction of natural carnivores has nothing to do with humans being vegetarian!

  • we have not eaten meat for millions of years as humans have not existed for millions of years - present day humans are about 40,000 years old, millions of years ago we were apelike. I will concede that they probably did eat meat, but how much? A tiny amount every week if they were 'lucky'. We cannot compare hunter gatherer societies to modern food consumption. Factory farming bears no relation to any 'natural' meat eating you might claim we should do as omnivores

  • I'm not trying to force it on you, I'm just trying to give you the facts so you can make an educated choice. If you want to eat meat then that's your choice.

And just so you know, even if animals were killed "humanely" I would not eat meat. I will never eat dead flesh.

  • Of course a vegetarian isn't going to just eat one avocado or one sprig of broccoli a day!

The average adult needs between 45 and 50 grams of protein a day. Just having a vegetarian snack of beans on toast provides you with 15g of protein! A veggie burger and chips provides about 20g of protein. See how easy it is to get the RDA of protein on a vegetarian diet!

  • And I'm trying to tell you that eating meat is UNHEALTHY!

I agree that Kwashiorkor, Marasmus and Pellagra are caused by a lack of protein but I challenge you to find examples of these diseases occuring in Western countries. The only cases that have occured are when people are homeless, living in poverty or are suffering an eating disorder - basically anyone who aren't eating ANYTHING!

  • Many vegetarians and vegans get an adequate daily intake of B12 through fortified cereals, fruit juices and milk alternatives like soya milk.

Those who choose not to eat B12-fortified foods take a vitamin supplement instead.

  • There is protein in fruits and vegetables! For example, an avocado contains about 2 grams of protein and broccoli contains about 3 grams of protein.

Many high protein foods like meat are high in fat and cholesterol which is why a high-protein diet can cause the diseases I mentioned.

  • Soya, beans, tofu, nuts and faux meats all contain protein and this is where vegetarians and vegans get their protein from.

  • Fruits and vegetables contain natural sugar AND protein. If you were eating raw sugar then you wouldn't be getting any protein.

I think if you do your research you will find that high protein diets increase the risk of kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes, stroke and some types of cancer due to high fat blood levels.

  • There is no clear proof yet that lack of protein causes Alzheimer's.

Studies have shown that soya protein is great for promoting hair growth. Japanese men who are now eating a more Western diet (more meat and fatty foods and less soya) are at an increased risk of baldness.

Kwashiorkor, Marasmus and Pellagra occur in developing countries from lack of food and hardly ever occur in Western countries.

  • How can vegetarians suffer from a lack of protein when there's protein in EVERYTHING!? The only two 'foods' that don't contain protein are sugar and alcohol. In fact, many meat-eaters are getting far too much protein in their diets.

Can you please name these muscular and digestive diseases so I can do further research? Thank you.

  • Please tell me what diseases you're referring to? I know plenty of diseases that meat-eaters get that vegetarians don't!

  • Eating meat doesn't effect global warming, however the production/farming of meat DOES!

If meat is such an important part of our diet then why are there millions of healthy vegetarians in this world?!

  • AHEM: I believe that global warming is not currently happening. I believe it's inevitable, as Earth has always gone through heating/cooling phases. (Remember how everyone was scared about the glaciers expanding back in, like, the 70's? Explain that.) And just because you eat meat doesn't make you the leading cause of this (currently nonexistant) global warming. Why? Some people go and hunt their own meat. I think you're just looking for some propoganda to spout at us.

  • These days there are very few people who hunt their own food. Instead most people buy the processed stuff that has been killed in a slaughter house.

With all the scientific evidence that proves global warming exists and is a major problem for the Earth, I'm surprised that people still don't believe it.

  • ive known about this before peta brought it up, but its nice there starting a campaign focusing on the topic, my brother didn't believe when I told him he can't be an environmentalist if you eat meat, and that meat is the largest supplier of global warming. More in depth vids, would be appreciated though.

  • Well said!
