While I am nowhere close to being a pro, I am not a stranger to photography or to digitals. Recently I wanted something better than what I had for an upcoming trip to Italy and I bought the Lumix DMC-LX2 on Amazon after reading reviews, etc. It is no SLR, but it is far more than a back-up ...

@amvideo I like the G10 a lot. I just finished an outdoor shoot today and the images are great. We were also shooting with a Canon 7D and 550D, a Canon HF M41 and a couple of other camera. The G10 really shown above them all, I think.
The touch screen menu takes some getting used to and I wish it had a longer reach in the zoom, but otherwise I am very happy with it.
I'm interested in the Panasonic AG-AC130, I mostly shoot skateboarding, snowboarding, and nature..will the lack of VFR be an issue if I wanted to undercrank/overcrank a sequence with the AC130? should I just bite the bullet and get the AG-AC160? any suggestions, comments, opinions are greatly appreciated, thanks!
@brownerfilm In answer to your question about the AG-AC130 and its lack of VCR for your video needs, I would think it would be an issue you need to strongly consider. It may be worth a call to Panasonic or if you belong to any forums, ask around if other users of the AG-AC130 use it as you want to and if they have problems.
I'm not that up on Panasonic cameras...just knew Jan and was curious about this camera so it caught my eye at DVExpo2011.

It's nice to hear from Jan again. I'd be interested to know what camera was used to record this presentation.
