HAHAHA might be ok for carving. bought the cheapo chinese made makita just for shits and giggles and it's the most useless piece of crap i've ever used! the chain speed is so slow it's just a joke! carve with it? no hope in hell unless you could fit a sprocket with a extra ten teeth on it! now it just sits there playing bitch to my stihl collection. but this bosch Jobie looks a lot faster tho. might search for some stats

@M40RIP yeah, yeah, ha ha. ;D I'm a carpenter and 95% of my gear is makita, so im well aware of the typical quality of makita, but that's why i was so shocked at how crap it was! Errr... i mean, wanna buy a chainsaw? it's a genuine makita!

@SwissArmyBumpkin lucky you! i personally do not like noises at all. and therefore i´m not really a noisy person. i do not bump my plate and my cup into the sink, like most other people do. i don´t slam the door shut. i just don´t make much noises. BUT, every once in a while id like to have a place, where i could NOISE the shit out of NOISES!

@SmalltimR To bad that both hydraulic and electric chain saws are much more efficient than conventional gas powered noisy chainsaws. If you're working and an environment that doesn't allow that much noise and fumes then they're acually much better. Further more they're less stress on you because they most often weigh less.

A hydraulic chainsaw will outperform any conventional chainsaw every day of the week and that's why they're used in saw mills etc.
