why the hell did u mount it to your air box. now it has a leak and will let hot air in. dunb ass u dont mount things to the air box. u should of put it right next to the fuse box u put in. and u should of ran the main power wire right from the battery so the light will work all the time. u need to learn how wire up thing and do a cleaner job.
@bowtiemanchevyman I don't think that's a cold air intake. It won't have any effect to the air temperature and it doesn't look like the box is sealed from the rest of the bay.
@bowtiemanchevyman Its a cone filter in on an open bay. That screw isn't gonna make any difference in performance. I don't think you should be calling anyone a dumb ass when you start your post with that. Why would you want to run the battery down by leaving the light on when truck isn't running? I thought it was a good info vid. Maybe you should just keep your opinions to yourself if you dont have anything nice to say. Try tightening your bow tie and choke yourself.........
Damn, forget the lights.... Get that Dirty Ass Air filter replaced... Your probably losing like 10hp..... Waht good is a Cold Air Intake, if it's all plugged up..LOL
Wow, great vid. I wish other guides were this clear.
I put some off road lights on my car a few months ago, and the switch that came with the kit is pretty cheap. I have an extra hole next to the fog light switch on my dash (where the heated mirror switch would be), so I got a second fog light switch and I wanted to wire up the off road lights to that switch and put it in that hole so it looks clean. The only problem is, the fog light switch has 5 wires coming out of it. What do I do?
Hey thats hella cool. You wouldnt happen to know how to do this for turn signal lights would you?If you do send me a email to sherina_donahue@yahoo.com.I would really appreciate it.Thanks for doing this video
i just bought a truck that has 4 off road lights, 2 on top 2 on push bar. 3 work 1 doesn't, its on the front the bulb works in the light next to it and its wired into the light next to it. there are no rips frays exposed wires its all done correctly that i can tell. do i buy a whole new kit and replace or what do you think is wrong
A relay is an electromechanical switch. Apply current to a coil and it activates the switch.
You can isolate high voltage or high current draw portions of a circuit from the rest of a circuit. Its important to consider with regards to the tolerances of the other items and wires in that said circuit. Too small a wire gauge may cause issues in this case. Here we can have the small stock wiring connect to the relay, which then connects high voltage to the lights.
iv done a couple of installs with lights like this and i really dont know what a relay is or what it does. whats the point in using a relay when i can run it straight to the battery with a simple blade fuse?
What do you mean why the relay do you know nothing about electronics. Bad job explaining ha I was assuming if you doing things like this on your own you would at least know how to tie your shoes. I guess that's why red necks were boots though. Don't hate on my video just cause you don't understand how electricity, volts and amps work.
@reverman0381 the fuse is a 25A and the wire is 12 gauge i should have went bigger in the main power wire because i plan in putting at least 4 more sets of lights on the truck. so when i get to that i think i will run an 8 gauge wire.
@Arizonahwy10 im guessing you mean four lights on one relay i wouldn't do that but not to sure if you can or cant i plan on putting more lights on down the road and of each set in going to use a new relay and just plug it in to the fuse box
thank you for the video verry helpfull
