  • the 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu was assembled in

Fairfax District, Kansas City, Kansas, United States

  • i like the 2000 malibu better the ROCK!!!!!

  • Is there also a side crash where the Malibu only has head curtain airbags for the side?

  • yup there is check my archives i uploaded it after this one

  • No, I meant the test without torso airbags.

  • oh sorry i only have without side airbags and one with head curtain and torso airbags

  • I believe that the Pontiac Solstice and the Saturn Sky (which both sit really low to the ground, and really need them) don't even offer side airbags as an option. The chevy impala has side curtains, but not torso airbags. Skimming off the top might be what American cars are all about, but not at the cost of risking peoples lives so manufacturers can save a few bucks.

  • haha this just proves what junk amer. cars are and how fucked up the people are who make them. I drive an '04 Audi A4. Audi has had side curtain/torso airbags since 1998, American cars (I'm not just talking about Chevy) are just now getting around to making them standard equipment. and it's not because Audi is an expensive car, price should have nothing to do with equipping cars with life saving airbags. You make it a $500 or even a $250 option and people aren't going to opt for them.

  • Every car without optional airbags in IIHS rate poor! I wonder why.

  • Well when they test the sienna without side airbag it got an acceptable rating

  • the occupants of the sienna sit higher up than in a sedan (same for suvs and stuff) and their heads are not hit by the iihs side impact barrier.

  • Comment removed

  • yea but he said every car without side airbag....but remember the grand caravan got a poor rating without side airbags and that too is a minivan

  • well, the heads of the occupants will hit the iihs side test barrier which produces high head accelerations.

  • Without side airbags... My oh my. Well if you want to give out "Poor" ratings, IIHS, make the standards less-demanding for cars without side airbags!

  • that won't be fair. every car has to be rated upon the same principals.

  • But do they really expect "Good" without airbags?!!

  • i don't suppose so.

  • So what do they do it?
