Sometimes you people write commentary without ever studying anything whatsoever. One battle during Korea when Chinese entered the Korean war and surrounded 7,000 US Marines that had no support or lines of communication to base and had to fight their way through 100,000 well armed Chinese soldiers did so losing 35% casualties in sub-zero weather. We slaughtered near 50,000 Chinese in that battle and they made it to the coast for evacuation. We have no desire for ww3 anyways we would win.

It's not like China doesn't have the firepower. Our troops maybe slightly superior, but they have so much more - to the point where it would be suicide for the U.S. to engage them in a full out conventional war. You make it sound like their military is backward in terms of its arsenal when it in fact is almost up to par with ours. Then there's the issue of numbers that they have a clear advantage on... ;)

Of course we couldn't invade China and conquer it with land forces. Logistically that would be impossible. But, for example, the Chinese navy would be obliterated with relative ease, that's far our capability is in front. Japan could sink their navy in fact.
im not trying to demean China, but China's military is a calculator, the US is a supercomputer. China's military stuffed with Soviet era hardware, little of it can compete with the US, just like Saddam's military, and China knows it. Now give it 30 years and things may change, but now the disparity in capability is like Nazi Germany vs Belgium. They have no offensive ability to engage the US on equal terms, less now than in 1950. You're the only person I've ever heard say China is even close

Sorry to say but if china upgraded some of it's technology (like instead of using AK-47's or the chinese knock off, using AKM's) it would be a formidable match, however being fresh in modern combat China still has alot of untold potential. then again there was the rape of Nanjing... nah, that doesn't count.
