oh man, you are hilarious (in a good way)!!! couldn't agree more, in fact, you dont even have to pay attention to realise its impossible to make a second movie ( murtagh wasn't taken away, ajihad didn't die)! this is just.... just a waste. Can't believe i spent 103 minutes of my life on this (as you say) hollywood piece of shit.

I think we all know that Peter Jackson would be the best director for a propper Eragon film. Look at LotR (he turned a great book into a possibly slightly better film in my opinion). The film was nothing like the book. I cannot believe that Christopher Paolini would allow them to create that monstrosity. The characters were all wrong (apart from Murtagh or perhaps Brom if he changed his personality). And Eragon was supposed to have dark hair.
You know, I understand the need to change or adapt the story when making books into movies. I know that sometimes they have to change/remove scenes and characters, merge cities together, and summarize plot points. But my problem with this movie is that it changed so many things that DIDN'T need to be changed. Even some of the core aspects of the story were completely altered unnecessarily, and pretty much every single character was completely different from their original descriptions.
How true. Yes he has brown hair. The only things the movie got right are: that: Eragon found the egg while hunting, Zarroc is red, and that Saphira is blue. Nothing else. I think that they made the movie script putting the book in a blender.
who wants a reload with new everything new voices actors etc every thing (especially directors and producers) new graphics and a plot that follows the books
@raistlinmajere98 I do! I most certainly do! Why not have the guy who directed Harry Potter: Sorcerer's Stone, direct the remake? Since his version followed the book almost to the letter!
Eragon will need to be redone entirely before anyone can even think about doing Eldest!
I think some movies are pretty faithful to the book; I'm not sure how some movies can be allowed to have accurate details from the book down to the least important piece of dialogue, and others have changed the characters and dialogue so much. The movie can't be exactly like the book, but look at Lord of the Rings--maybe an often-used example but still, they were really faithful to the book, I thought. Wish some of the movies of books I read were that accurate, but that's life, I guess.
@Serasia depends on the producer & what their vision is, as well as the director. I tend to think that if the writer isn't there (alive), someone else has to be there to represent them to then fight to get the book represented accurately/fairly - what have you.... hate to say it, but look at TWILIGHT --- Stephanie was involved with the first one, and though she stood by it, thought it was straying a bit from the original & had the producer fire the director & get a new 1 for the next film...

Sorry, but you said that they kept the farm boy feel. Not really, what poor farm boy that can't afford meat, manage to own a perfectly tailored jacket... But ya other than that I agree with you 100%. And just as a side note, if someone were to tell you (maybe 3 years down the road) that they were redoing the movie, and they planned on doing them all, would you be excited or disappointed?
@20Pumpkins2LoVe I'll have to rewatch my own vid to know what you're talking about to be perfectly honest LOL (wow, bad huh? lol amnesia.... or early onset Alzheimer's at 28? lol)
Remake - anxious in that I'd wanna know if they were honestly looking at the fans and going "This is for you- it's closest to the book at ANYONE will get. You'll love it." I'll hold 'em to it... watch it.. and we'll see.
@MorbidKittyProd as a smart ass the dragon saphira is so wrong and yes he was a brunette if you 1 read eldest he(hoarst's son{i think baldor} says that sloan said he saw him take his somin he knows its him cause hes only one with blonde hair
I agree with both reviews. I mean Paolini's writing isn't good, but he's really young and he has a lot of time to improve. I concur a hundred percent with the film review.
Cast was okay(not that great), but the rest was bad choice. hell hollywood f*** up the first movie so bad, the second or later movies wouldn't make any sense AT ALL.
That movie was shit and i was so pissed when i went to go and see it in the movies that i just started to through popcorn at the sceen cuz it was so terrible! I personaly love the book but i never really got that into Eldest. that was a REALLY slow book but Brisinger made up for that. I wish that FOX never made that movie and I wish that Christepher Poulini did something about it but he just let them murder his great book. I will give it this though, the movie was good for kids 10 and under~
I know that it'll never happen, but I want a director with a functioning brain who read the book(unlike the director of this movie) to come along and make a brilliant movie adaptation of Eragon. I agree with you 100% about this POS Hollywood mistake.
there are some books that cant be turned into movies just because there is to much going on. in eragon is a long journey full of detail and and plot. when being put into a movie they have to cut the journey down buy quiet abit. and whats with the movie being premired in england anyway.
dude what are you talking about LOTR is like 1000 pages each book and they made them into great movies and it is more detailed and larger than eragon its the shit writers and director that ruined this movie
that may be why sonofargo08 said "some books"... i agree - LOTR is chock full of detail & plot but the movies came out so good. I couldn't have asked for better adaptations :)
ha i just made a review recently. im making a part two soon. and i agree with you this movie is to horrible and the story is too torn up and missing too many characters to make eldest, this director fucked up this movie so bad C.P. didnt deserve this
SnobrdrTG: "this director fucked up this movie so bad C.P. didnt deserve this"
LOL I completely & totally agree with you! I write as a hobby, and I would HATE for my book to be masacred when adapted into film. If I wrote a story & toyed with the idea of it being a movie, I personally would re-write it for the screen & then direct it myself --- b/c I would hold a grudge til death if it was butchered as much as Eragon was LOL
yeah lol my review i just shit on it for 16 minutes. why cant we have a hulk scenario where one came out in like 2001 and it was awful and another was made in like 08 and it was a lot better. do it with eragon with peter jackson
hehe. 16 minutes is enough time to say TONS of terrible things about the movie & the crew in charge of turning a great thing into shit LOL
good idea though - especially if Peter Jackson did it... Eragon is that type of movie where he'd have made it maybe a lil too scary at times where it could probably be seen as borderline :)
I dont really like eragon s # 1 book after reading the 2 and third tho i just have eragon to have the set Braum was Eragons father just like Luke I am your father
That movie was worse than Puss in Boots the movie (which, though admittedly old, was a piece of crap; Puss somehow gained the magical ability to turn into a human and spent most of the movie like that).
I totaly agree with you. I dont watch movies of books I read. It gives you a totaly different view of how you imagined the book, and thats the reasone of reading the book. Th next two books are Eldest and Brisingr.
I totaly agree with you. Thats why I dont watch movies of books I read. The next two books Eldest and Brisingr. Theres a the last book coming out soon. See yah.
I'm reading ELDEST right now... in the middle almost, actually. Paolini has gotten much better as a writer - well *had* in the time between the 1st book & the 2nd. :)
haha omg your soooooo right!! this movie was soooooooo bad

It is to bad I mean, IF the movie was good they would make the 2nd and the 3rd part. But since it is a LOTR clone.. it failed.

They could have followed the book and put t into 2 movies. Books are epic win and the movie was a epic fail
