  • this game is ridiculously underrated, both playing so well and just hear how hard their hitting the ball.

  • "What a ridiculous shot to even think of trying, let alone pulling it off"

    Safin in a sentence.

  • The most stylish player to ever play the game.

  • what round?

  • Yeah this was such a pleasent surprise, it seemed like he never left the top 5. He was playing with unusual calm (think back to 2005 Aus), was moving good, hitting clean and serving consistent. He ran into a good Federer, and that was probably his worst match of that tournament, unfortunately. I was so sure I was gonna see another classic 5 set match between them! Made it to at least the semis in all 4 majors, not easy to do. A stunning talent, is Safin.

  • safin? 5 sets against federer AGAIN? u've got to be kidding me.

  • @BrotherTree1 I knew it was highly unlikely, but you live and hope. Since his injury, he wasn't anywhere near where he should have been. I think having 2 major injuries as Safin had, must have prevented him from winning a few more majors, not to mention 2002 where he had chances to win 2 gs, australian and french.

  • @davd1986 After the Djokovic match, it wasn't necessarily the way the was playing but the aura was back after such a win. Opponents were aware that Safin was lurking dangerously once again and it was great to watch Marat as somewhat of a favourite throughout the matches up until the Federer match.

  • True, it's one of Safin's best matches after he got injured, he played well, fought on every point, it was a miracle to see him play like that at that moment especially on grass

  • For any long term Safin supporter, this match was such a surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed this match, not only because Marat won but because of the surprisingly high quality play from a Grass court clown like Seppi and a broken down Marat Safin. Almost felt like it was the same guy from 2000-2005.

  • thank you very much for posting =) =)

  • Safin could have been the greatest ever. He had that much physical talent, but he was more than a little distracted throughout his career....

  • awesome video

  • LOL @ 3:55 !!!
