this car is sick and beautiful. If i wasn't 6'6", I would be the first at the local dealership as soon as it hits the inventory. wish i wasn't so tall lol
Research the car BEFORE you start posting and assuming things, as of right now, MOST (95%) of websites say the car will be going for $33,000 - $38,000! not $100,000+. Yea sure it looks amazing, but what's IN the car (engine, HP, Toque, MPG, technology etc.) usually is what the cost is based off of, not MAINLY the design of it.
@seagreenshoes0 by the way 25 mpg highway to be more specific but if it comes down to it i would gladly pay more at the pump to enjoy driving any sports car becuase they are truly fun.
if you have 120,000$ in cash to pay in full i would test drive this to a base r8 then pay in full and have it ordered to avoid settling on a showroom shit model that a dealer would attempt tremendously for me to buy, however given that acura has not given any specs currently and if its not a 3.5 second corner master with 25 mpg I would honestly pass and buy something HANDMADE not assembled in factory.
@Chronix74 The claim that electric cars are better for the environment (clean energy) is laughable since most (if not all) of the electricity will be produced from coal. Don't fall for the green car bullshit. Buy the car that you want. Preferably a high torque, high HP monster that will give the middle finger to all of the Prius owners that you will be passing on the freeway.
Wait... what is this electric motor driving the front wheels bulllshit? .... Sure, let's rip off the R8's styling, change it a bit, and make it weird.....
What happened to the awesome old NSX styling? They could have revamped that classic lineage, with a newer motor, and had a killer machine rich fanboys would drool over!
First off, it's not made to be "the best car" there will always be better! And IMO it looks like they tried to hard with this car. Obviously It looks nice, no doubt about it! But when I think NSX, that is not what I would picture! Personaly the older generations are much better...
@Kyalaen It's not that I'm not used to electric motors.. It's the fact that, when someone wants a supercar or a high-end sports car, they want it for the whole experience. The rumbling idle, the sound of the engine pinning you into your seat, the motion of the gear shift sliding into gear.. How exciting would drag races be without that immense roar, instead with cars that just sound like golf carts..? Pretty damn dull if you ask me.
@Spoolin92GSX i hope you don know the reason why they are calling it a hybrid is because the 2 eletric motors up front which power the 2 front wheels and those 2 motors mean a huge amount of torque, just to let you know the system used in the nsx is very similair to the kers which is used in formula 1and dont worry the v6 handles the rest of the power ;)
@Redline2695 Oh, no I know they're separate motors for essentially an AWD set-up, and I've seen first-hand how much torque electric-powered cars can have I'm not arguing that at all! I could make more points for my point of view, but that's what it comes down to - preference. The very select market this is aimed at will love showing off all the tech goodies their new toy has, but die-hard gear heads like myself will keep the beautiful odor of C16 exhaust and scorched rubber.
@Spoolin92GSX I totally agree with you, nothing beats the sound of the throttle opening up and unleashing that roar but our global environment is degrading...Within a few centuries there will be nobody around to enjoy drag races or what not. I am totally on your side...I love N/A but for future human generations we need to think of the consequences of our actions right now.

Much better cars in my mind. Nissan GT-R, Mustang Boss-and GT 500, Pontiac G8 (with 6.0 355hp, 6.2, with 415hp). Lexus IS-F, (5.0 416 hp). No these cars may not be nearly as exotic or fancy, but most won't break your bank, and you get WAY more class and bang for your buck. The NSX looks nice, and is semi-fast, but that's not everything. Personally i'd drive a turbo charged SS Cobalt before one of those. Probably almost as fast, but less reliable. :) IMO
hahaha do you even know what the benefit is in having paddle shift action... 2 hands on the steering wheel at all time. Give faster response times, quicker on turns, loss of reaction throwing your hand to the shifter. sorry to say. use stick is fun as shit to drive but paddle shifting is for taking the car to its limits and having no response time taking away.

Otherwise you are robbing yourself of the fun of driving. Paddle shifting is for pussies like silent assailant.
@sblagg01 im a big enthusiast of cars and most of all in driving. i love building them. making them like new. and just making it better. im not saying paddle is the way to go. lol. stick is so much fun! DURRR but when it comes to times on the circuit... then .01 second is a lost. so making it more efficient in driving and less time fumbling and throwing your hand to the stick. its already there on the steering. perfect harmony. just look at all the super cars.. look at what formula 1
this video is for you to watch and enjoy, not for you to fight about if it sucks or not. first of all, this is my opinion (true fact) about this whole thing. V6s arent bad. the Gt-r has a V6 producing 545hp! american cars are great, but not as great as imports. so to all you racist biased chevy lovers and lovers of everything i hate, including you, stfu the whole world isnt white.
Stick shift is a thing of the past, the transmissions on these cars "GT-R, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Acura NSX, McLaren and many other car manufacturers", are so advanced and shifts take milliseconds, something you can not achieve by manual shifting, the 90's are Long gone, welcome to the future.
I don't like it. I saw another concept of the NSX that had a Honda logo in the front that would have been 100x better than this mediocre design. That other concept actually looked like an NSX but with better lines and exotic. This...well is boring.
Honda knows exactly what they are doing. They do not need any turbos to complicate things. They can get about 400 minimum out of that naturally aspirated engine
Looks sweet, but im afraid its gonna flop just like the last NSX. The car has an electric motor the front and v6 in the back. this my friends means no Manual trans will be available, and with the v6 you might get 250-300hp out of it tops. It will come down to the price tag in all honesty, if its not a reasonable price tag on the car then it wont compete with the competition i mean the new hybrid Camry puts out 270hp. I think Acura bit off more then they can chew
the body line is similar to the original nsx, but the lights kill it making it look like an audi. they should of stuck with the elongated tail light and maybe a flush square looking headlight to relate to the original nsx.
I hated the origional NSX looked like shit but this New "concept" is a great looking car minus the electric engine garbage, but like any concept when final production rolls off the line it will probably look like a Prius
Whoever tell u that this car is $40,000 is screwing with u. They forgot to add the "1" in front of the $40,000. It should be around $140,000 on the first batch.
I can picture how the electric motor in the front can rocket the car up to speed from a dead stop.. since electric motors have the potential for very fast acceleration then after a certain speed the gasoline engine takes over!! Just an idea!! Hopefully acura/honda finally get shit together and give us something good!!
This Shit Makes No Sense. Honda Announced This Car Back In 2005-2006 With The Honda Badging In Tow. For The Past Few Years At Every Car Show I Went To, It Was Called The Honda NSX (As It Was Called Everywhere Else In The World), Now All Of A Sudden They Throw The "A" Badge From Their Acura Division On It? Not Minding The Fact That It Wont Be Out For Another 3 Years? I'm Sorry But If I Ever Get This Car, Im Stripping All The Acura Badges Off, And Rebranding It A Honda, Because That's What It Is.
@sblagg01 lol i think that chevy, dodge and ford are outdated. they're building muscles cars from over 40 years ago! your comment is bullshit man! if variable valve timing is so outdated...than how come everyone copied it! also, acura's all wheel drive system is superior to everyone else'. they get better quality ratings than ANY other car company on the road...LOL what else...they power every single indy car, man you didn't think before you wrote your comment..
@posvibration21 YOU need to think before YOU post. Variable valve timing, with INDIRECT FUEL INJECTION, and NO TURBO OFFERING ON ANY 4 CYL MODELS, is OUTDATED. Honda has shown NOTHING recently in the way of creative engineering, just recycled stuff, EXCEPT THE NSX, which was my point, if you could fucking read. And where the hell did I mention Ford, Dodge or Chevy?? I even said I use to be a loyal Honda owner! God it amazes me how people like you can go through life so stupid.
@Texarmageddon "The new, TOTALLY REDESIGNED 2012 Honda Civic." Except that besides a few tweaks it looks pretty much just like the 2011. But drives stiffer. & still no 6 speed auto tranny when virtually every other car in its class has one. When asked, Honda's reply was: "Our customers are more concerned about fuel efficiency. They don't want or need the 6th gear." Really? Then why does the Hyundai Elantra get better fuel mileage than the regular Civic WITH a six speed tranny?
I expect this NSX will have a 3.5 L V6 (producing ~290 HP) for the rear wheels and electric motors for the front wheels providing ~160 HP total. Total HP ~450 and a weight ~3100 lbs and power-to-weight ratio of 6.9
-Supercar acceleration powered by a next-generation V-6 engine combined with electric motors
-Featuring Acura's innovative all-new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) hybrid system delivering handling performance unmatched by previous AWD systems
-High performance expressed through engineering efficiency
-Developed and manufactured in the United States

Gorgeous car but it is after all, just a concept car and we all know how that goes. If and when they do ever go into production, they end up looking like some distant relative instead...at least in the US anyway. Interesting timing...releasing a car like this after all these years just when the US economy will be collapsing.

@TwinMillGTR HAHA...U R RIGHT....WHAT THE FCUK IS ACURA NSX?..
moroccob 3 weeks ago
@TwinMillGTR yea some/ acura owners do that in replacing the "A" with the "H" to have a "JDM" appearance
bomsexplosive 3 weeks ago
@bomsexplosive No one is fooling anyone by just changing the badges on their cars.
vietdude1979 3 weeks ago
@vietdude1979 i know and they know that, its just to make like and have the appearance, like i said
bomsexplosive 3 weeks ago
Damn that looks good. I hope its not another great looking concept-turned ok looking production car though.

@sblagg01 lol i think that chevy, dodge and ford are outdated. they're building muscles cars from over 40 years ago! your comment is bullshit man! if variable valve timing is so outdated...than how come everyone copied it! also, acura's all wheel drive system is superior to everyone else'. they get better quality ratings than ANY other car company on the road...LOL what else...they power every single indy car, man you didn't think before you wrote your comment..
posvibration21 3 weeks ago

Pretty sure it's stands for Acura "NoSeX" cuz you won't need any If you own one ;)

I expect this NSX will have a 3.5 L V6 (producing ~290 HP) for the rear wheels and electric motors for the front wheels providing ~160 HP total. Total HP ~450 and a weight ~3100 lbs and power-to-weight ratio of 6.9

Gorgeous car but it is after all, just a concept car and we all know how that goes. If and when they do ever go into production, they end up looking like some distant relative instead...at least in the US anyway. Interesting timing...releasing a car like this after all these years just when the US economy will be collapsing.
