@subinteles depends the ps4 will no doubt have backwards compatibility with ps3 games, but yes it will probably be about 2013... then again a ps3 is only £220 which is fairly cheap, the new console will be like £400 again...

I want to se more game swih the visuals like uncharted on the ps3 and games on the 360 like gears. Im not overly concerned with visuals right now because they are still somewhat great. PC's got graphics but it hasnt got any real titles because the platform lacks credibility because of piracy

The Cell Processor in the PS3 is rated at 206 GIFLOPS. (Floating Point Operations Per Second) which equals a i7 2600k. If the PS4 is equipped with the new 32nm Cell @ 4.2GHz then it would easily equal or surpass the Intel 990x EE. The only problem with a Cell is that it's hard as hell to write for it.

@OriginalPsGamer There is a nice processor inside the PS3 and people have took advantage of that before, however the processor itself is largely bottlenecked by the other hardware. The PS3 has just 256 MB of for normal and video memory. Therefore the only advantage such a processor offers is the ability is hyperthreading, which isn't of huge advantage in games since the i5 2500K comes toe to toe with the much more expensive i7 2600k in games. Its advantage shows when used as a workstation

I have a bad feeling about the PS4. I own a PS3 but XBOX will have the edge the next time they release the new consoles. The XBOX is much more popular compared to the PlayStation and has way more functionalities. The PS3 is good too and I believe the PS4 will be great too but the cost worries me. Not to mention the possibility of slim versions being released after the original versions.
