Can I use these domes for heating, do they give out proper heat with the proper bulb?My plan is to buy 2 and use one during the day with a 60W zoomed daylight bulb and use the other during the night with a zoo med 40 W night bulb.
@PenguinMy123456789 Sure, we do not care for the combo dome since it kills the ability to properly structure placement of heat light, etc. but you could do it if you desire.
Thank you for the great reviews. I checked your website and it is the best pet supplies website i have ever visited and i'll be a regular customer. By the way i live in Kuwait but i have a US address but my only concern is if i order the one gallon tortoise bites will it be damaged as the temperature in Kuwait is about 55 degrees celsius in the summer. Because if i order the 1 gallon tortoise bites it will stay in the cargo for about 3 days. Do you think i should wait until winter?
@Kaiifyq8y Wow, that's a super nice comment. please send an email to our sales department directly and they will help you with your purchase questions. We use YouTube for product comments only.
they will be in a 4foot male boas viv wen will be going on a mesh screen on top of the wood viv as i am going to take the lights out the viv completely and put a mesh screen on top the viv and use the lights in domes n top the viv but want the core for domes for the job
Isnt it true that the bulbs used for reptiles can give off mercury in the air which is bad for anyone in the room. Not sure ive this is true but have heard this and that those bulbs that save energy do to .
@shampoo02 Absolutely unfounded information... mercury vapor bulbs do NOT give off mercury into the air. In fact, they are 100% sealed and if for any reason the seal was broken they wouldn't even ignite. We would be curious as to where you "heard" this because we hope no one is putting this false information on the internet.
@BigApplePetSupply Im trying to remmber were ive read about it , thats why i figured id ask because i wasnt sure and didnt want to state something with out really knowing fully.Ive just read that like those energy saveing bulbs that they admit some amount of Mercury vapers in the air. Have you heard about those bulbs im talking about and how they are telling people to properly despose of them. That if they break it could cause mercury in the air were ever it is.
@shampoo02 Proper disposable of any bulb whether gas or fluorescent is optimal however mercury bulbs do not emit gas into the air. However, there is tiny amounts of mercury in a mercury bulb so disposing of it properly is always best.
@BigApplePetSupply Well with almost anyting proper disposable is what we should all do like baterys and like you said light bulbs. But still I think that just abou everything in are homes give off toxic stuff , even reptile bulbs.Cant live in a in a buble thow so i guess just let it be and just do your best to lesson the expousure.
@BigApplePetSupply Ah great the reason i ask is i have a leopard gecko and i want to provide day and night light but not heat as i use a heat matt for that. Im thinking of getting the zoo med mini doubl dome and haveing a day and night incandesant 40w bulb in it.
@mattsarg If you have enough light all you need is a 60 watt nightlight red bulb in a 5-1/2 dome with the heat mat. This assumes you are in something like a 20 gallon size enclosure.

@BigApplePetSupply I have an exo terra 45x45x45cm or 18x18x18 inch terrarium. And were it is the tank is dark even during the day. So i thought of a day and night light the night light purely for viewing as they are nocturnal and the day light to replicate the daytime.
, PLEASE CHECK OUT MY REPTILE COLLECTION SO FAR, AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!!!!!
