  • I hope these LFS/LFSAs will come to Toronto by 2013-2016. We're flooded by so many Orion VIIs and retired all New Looks.

  • its a vantooll bus :P

  • this was something to see but this white all around looks good to me and as for 0059....The Windows make the bus look better then this EXT. look

  • too bad they took the njtransit articulated buses away from kearny because that huge type of bus has caused many accidents in tight turned streets

  • What a beauty, added to favorites.

  • Why didn't NovaBus bring them back to the MTA's Flatbush Depot? You know Flatbush desparately needs some NOVAS.

  • i like the current ones better.

  • the engine is too loud

  • @ Caitsith810. I thought so. I can tell that Voith whine a mile off.

  • Is that fitted with a Cummins engine and voith gearbox?

  • @1100HondaCB - yes sir

  • Lol, that looks better than the current model!

  • @mtattrain - Totally disagree on that note. This one doesnt have a ROOF HVAC whereas the current model is more streamlined and has a roof HVAC!

  • @Caitsith810 Well, it is a prototype.

  • @Caitsith810 i think rear hvac works better then the roof ones in my opinion. i have been on buses that have roof hvac and they dont do as well as the rear ones do

  • @Caitsith810

How long is the Bus ?

  • @mtattrain I agree.

  • now thats 60ft!

  • Damn, do they look ugly. And they're noisy too.

  • Are they the same as in Quebec city?

  • @TheMidnightGuy Yes, Novabus is located in Montréal, we had LFS (regular model only I think) since 1995. This articulated version called "LFS Artic" came this year in January, which is very late. Just to tell, we never had any articulated buses in Montreal until this year, which is a shame. So many bus lines were full of people before they appear, plus the heat and everything. Also, our subway system never had any door signal until this week I think, lol.

  • o great seems great

  • are all your demos # 00XX?

  • DAMN those are the Sexiest Articulated buses that I've ever seen, especially coming from a Nova.

    GOD I LOVE NOVAs!!!!

  • what is that thing between the bus and the trailer at 0:25 what is that called?

  • @Sims3fan2000 I believe it is called a "vestibule."

  • thank you at least someone in this world is smart!!

  • Couldn't help but notice the engine noise. Seemed loud for newer technology buses.

  • This is a demonstration bus so that means that they're still testing it.

  • these busses only run on the M15 so far?

  • wow we have some of these buses in montreal, but i havent seen them go in the snow yet! luckily winter is here! lol

  • I like these new buses :)

these NovaBuses have 3 doors unlike the New Flyer Articulated buses which only have 2.

  • i saw this on the Bx12 once

  • They are NOT so good in snow condition, we had them jacknife in snowy condition in Quebec City.

  • I heard they have orderd 90 of these do you know on which routes they might put these?

  • So far for Gun Hill (BX12 Select) and 126 Street (M15 Select) with some 1000-1100 series Artics to retire or displaced to other depots

  • They have ordered 86 currently. I work at the plant that will be building these. They are a nice bus.

  • It must be nearly impossible to pass other vehicles in that thing.

  • Actually it is possible, The artics that currently run on the M15 passes vehicles quiet nicely

  • Of course it's possible. It's only roughly 20 feet longer than other buses in the MTA fleet.

  • Ohh really, then why the Nova RTS' in the Bronx was considered problem buses? New Flyer, NABI, VanHool all make more reliable buses, VanHools are strong buses actually, but the agencies that buy them generally don't take care of them. The LFSA we got had messed up windshield wiper, intercooler gets hot too quick, and the lights burning out already. I saw that bus and never got on it. Once it got on the Bx12 it was fucked up already.

  • I would like to see some evdience that supports your statements.

  • proof?

  • The only reason that the NYCMTA is going to buy this bus is because its made in New York State

  • Comment removed

  • I rode these for my 2 day trip to NY. I'm loving the ISL engine to.

  • since the MTA is ordering these buses, well these buses be diesel that there ordering right?

  • the NOVABus LFS Artic that is coming next year, they will replace all the 1996-1998 D60HF. ;)

  • I'm actually starting to like these buses now.

  • That joint mad ugly in the back. Everywhere else is fine. 3 doors is stupid still. Not a big fan of the of the 3 door buses.

  • I actually like the 3 door concept, something that the M15 needed for years. I gotta agree with the rear, it looks like total shit. The Voith Transmission sounds like trash. The windows....well I like the windows, favors good sound while recording.

  • The M15 should have been the first line to have SBS service. Traffic along 1st and 2nd Avenues is worse then Fordham Road.

  • When will the MB Citaro come to NYC?

  • never.

  • I don't think MB Citaro will come to NYC, as I know that NYCMTA was already ordered 90 Novabus LFS articulated buses~~

  • That's stupid! I really liked the MB Citaro :(

  • Oh okay, good.

  • It would of been good if they would of made the articulated RTS. This is the closest thing we could all get for now.

  • they did made an articulated RTS once, but it was a test unit only.

  • the Demo Bus #0055 never came to NYC.

  • Why do all of the Nova buses have the curvy fronts?

  • wow with those lights inside it seems like an r160 with a bus body

  • When is New York going to get it's first articulated hybrid bus?

  • Comment removed

  • WOW!!! Novabus is back in the US!!!!! i thought they were only operating these buses in Canada???

  • Cannot be true. Bx12 uses New Flyer D60HF buses retrofitted for Select Bus Service.

  • As soon as the Novabus plant opens somehwere in NY state, the NYCMTA will start buying this bus in mass numbers

  • That bus is ugly. What makes it ugly is those windows.

  • agreed! why can't it have those Orion NG VII kind?!

  • The windows on the Orion VII NG is what gives it the striking look that it has. Without those windows they are basically Orion VII with an exit announcement.

  • I know that but thanks alot

  • A BIG TEST RUN ON THE M15 BUS

  • It even has a rear window...

  • OMG you are so damm lucky I wish I took your place for that I love it. Love this video its the far best. I hope I see a M15 Bus like that I wanna ride it. 5 stars up.

  • You still have a chance, its still running on the M15 :)

  • Your right I do And one day I will

  • Huh? What about the Mercedez Benz artics???

  • Yes, I want my MB citaro G!

  • I want to. the test bus for NYC looks good and better than this bus here.

  • Those are going to replace '99 New Flyers or could replace Nova RTS on some overcrowded routes in Queens and Brooklyn.

  • they will replace the 1996-1997 D60HF NOT 1999 ones.

  • Which means that they will only run in Manhattan. The MTA needs to realize that Manhattan is not the only borough that needs 60 foot long buses.

  • Broxns gets 60 footer bus also.

  • They have either '99 D60HF or the '03-'05 stage D60HF which I call them New Flyer D60HF Bright Edition because of the brighter lights and cleaner interior. The '99 D60HF will be replaced by some future artic, most likely MB Citaro hybrids but the MTA might decide to go somewhere else who knows. Nova LFS artics will go to 126 street and Micheal J Quill depots. They should get digital ads inside and out.

  • but first the 1996-1997-1998 D60HF will be replaced first.

  • The Bronx has more 60ft buses than Manhattan, and newer ones at that. Brooklyn, Queens And Staten Island are also getting the new artics/displaced artics.

  • I know that. Gun Hill Depot uses them on alot of routes which frankly don't need them like Bx4, Bx5, and Bx39. What's crazy is that Bx28 is more crowded than those routes and Bx28 uses mostly 40ft buses. Most of the new artics 2003-2004 are in the Bronx with Bx12 SBS taking about 25 of them.

  • You have no idea how crowded the Bx4, Bx5, and Bx39 gets during AM/PM rush hours(especially during school). They do need them.

  • I agree. There are some routes that need them more than those routes you mentioned.

  • This is a Canadian company based in Quebec (find it on a map) that will be designing and/or building these buses

  • Canadian made Nova Bus FTW!

  • OH,DAT IZ SO COOL!

  • You guys coudlve gotten any articulated bus in the world but that!!!!! They shoudlve gotten NABI ^) BRT buseor son Arcticualted NewFlyer BRT Buses!!!

  • I would have been happy as hell if we got NABIs or New Flyers, but damnit this ugly piece of shit had to be ordered

  • Comment removed

  • I liked novabus until they introduced the LFS Diesel on the M23 years ago. I did not like how that looked, but when it comes to performance, I think the hybrid LFS is better than all of them.

  • Comment removed

  • OOOh thats why ive never seen it....i wonder what happened it looks good

  • Any bus manufactures is better than New Flyer. Its bad enough that the D60HF's destroyed the M14.

  • that's too bad that your opinion about new flyer is somewhat harsh. you would be surprised how we have improved over the years. you might be surprised - give us another chance. ride one of our state-of-the-art BRT's...

  • Wow she looks nice

  • Those buses are not needed yet,the other buses we have right now are doing fine and the old buses do not need to retire until they turn 20 years old.

  • eh... the bus looks ok. Never seen it before.

  • Damn, that shit is ugly! -_-

  • it almost look like a new version of the GMC fishbowl bus

  • thought the reason they were trying the double deckers was b/c these articulated buses r too hard to drive+interfere with traffic

  • Is it possible that they may stick with this?

  • This is my first time seeing this bus in action. Thanks for providing the vid!

  • When are more coming in? Are they going to Manhattanville?

    BTW Great video!

  • ! of the routes they are really needed on is the b35. That route is very crowded. m34, m16, m42 is also very crowded.

  • i never saw that kind of bus in nyc before...

  • That's why it's called an exclusive video.
