Actually, Samantha wasn't a "former" Vernons Girl at the time she did this - she was a full-fledged member and wasn't even credited under her name for this performance. The Girls also backed Long John on a great version of Got My Mojo Working and also backed PJ Proby on this show. I hope someone releases the original studio recordings that were made for this TV show as these were great performances but the picture/sound quality hasn't aged well on the video.

Long John Baldry was a strong influence to Elton John from which Elton took his name. Great blues man. Baldry is also the "someone" in "Someone Saved my Life Tonight" by Elton John.
