Your montage is beautiful! Simple and stirring with a beautiful song to punctuate the power in the concept of this mailbox. After seeing your video, I couldn't wait for the chance to visit the mailbox for the first time, which I was finally able to do this past weekend. Amazing how the elements change the surroundings, but happy to see the mailbox still there.
I am writing a book of short stories and as soon as I heard about The Kindred Spirit Mailbox, I knew I had found my cover. Thanks!

O.k. the Kindred Spirit mail box is utilized for those who journal, be it a loss of love, journey of faith, ect. Really glad I did my research and all the more reason I will be making my own personal journey back to Sunset Beach / Bird Island until it is my permanent home away from home in my wonderful state....... NC~
@lwfrost42 Just a note...I live in Sunset Beach NC and my son walked down to Bird Island to place a note in the journal at the Kindred Spirit. We had just returned from the funeral of my husband and his father. I guess he was feeling a little sad and decided to place a note of memory for his Dad in the journal. It's a great place to be all year long. Lots of happy memories here.
Most Excellent video and song as well, one of my favorite spots between Sunset Beach and Bird Island! Still not sure what the Kindred Spirit mail box is for .
the mailbox is for people to write about their trips and such, and feelings they have. it's such a long walk to the mailbox but it's really worth it. it's so beautiful.. and if you still don't understand, read the book "The Mailbox" by Marybeth Whalen.
