I loved going to see Miss Inez at the Radford Cafeteria across from SMU on Hillcrest in Dallas. She was such a treat- playing those great baseball songs...and our favorite classics! She is in Icon!
(cont'd) She played organ at Luby's Cafeteria for many years. I saw her there in 1986 soon after I moved to Dallas. She is a very special lady and very talented musician.
Most people who are not from Dallas might not understand the significance of Miss Inez. She was hired as the organist back in the 1950s for the Dallas Texas minor league baseball team. She knew nothing about baseball, but gave it a whirl. She immediately became a top notch ball park organist, even if it was minor league. Everyone loved her, and kids were mesmerized at how she could play and carry on a conversation with her.
Miss Inez...I have so many fond memories of you from Luby's at Inwood Village...I'll never forget you!
